Are you a Liverpool Docker by any chance.

Of course you will , the whole restriction on bent and odd shaped veg /fruit will be abolished . Having said that the bent MPs will remain !

you will only be able to get bananas that bend to the right, not the left.

Is that not the 3rd box on the ballot? Stay in but have some bent bananas and buy grapes in pounds n ounces.

That is a trick NIGEL has neglected, bring back our old pounds and ounces, i never thought of it, well done alicks 77

Oh I’ve changed my mind I’d forgotten that bananas were unknown here before 1986.Thankfully Spinelli’s Communist regime the EU put us right by getting the Irish to start up Fyffes which opened our eyes to a previously unknown outside world of wonderful food that we’d have never known had it not been for the Socialist cause.

Bananas will revert back to their original shape after brexit, however Cucumbers will have to remain straight, and thats to appease gender re-alignment issues.

That made me laugh. However, all joking aside, straight cucumbers are not a result of EU regulations. Like all apples being the same size, all perfect veg, (when’s the last time you saw a misshapen carrot looking like a willy), straight cucumbers and the like are the result of the big supermarket chains’ buying policy. This is why many tons of perfectly good, though odd shaped fruit veg go into landfill or are left to rot each year. Even if we vote “leave” the situation will be the same.

Fruit and veg. have been standardised for mehanical handling and they have to fit in uniform packaging.I grow a small amount of stuff and it comes out of the ground in all shapes and sizes.

Morrisons now doing a range called Wonky Veg,cheaper than the ‘perfect’ stuff but just as good
