Bagpipes on a14

you often see some strange things but this is a first for me.a14 west bound just after a11 split a man walking in a field playing bagpipes at about 1.30pm anyone else see him or what else have you seen on travels,

Seen him myself a while ago !!

I’ve seen him quite a few times, as long as its light there’s a chance of seeing him. When I was on the vans 3 years ago I saw him at 5.30am in August!

Ideal place to practice.

It was me lads. The wife kicked me out to practise.I got chased by 120 cows who did not like the noise.

It helps the spuds grow. They like the pipes.
Rhubarb prefers the quo.
Wheat prefers the worzels.
Grapes like a bit of violin.

I sometimes have pipers playing in the coach when transporting pipe bands or on wedding work. One guy wasnt very good so I took a corner a wee tad fast, piper and pipes landed in a heap on the floor. In cab ■■■■■■■ had nothing on the noise his escaping wind made.

You see and hear it a lot in Scotland. If you think about it you wouldnt want to practise the bagpipes indoors unless you lived alone and had no neighbours. On hols in Silgachan on Skye some evenings you could hear someone practising in the distance - very moody indeed.

My next door neighbour was banging on my door at 2am this morning. It’s a good thing I was still up practising my bagpipes

The reason they practise outside is that the pipes are best heard from a distance. I find that the the distance from Scotland to Wales is about right.

Should play the pipes in the Msa. Think of it as a free early morning wake up call.

I’ve seen him several times over the last few years. Good luck to him. Keep the pipes alive, I love 'em!

Why am I thinking this might just be true ? !!!

I play the trumpet too.But back to the post of seeing odd things.I was driving early in the morning in France in a rural area. There were some cars stopped and drivers at the side of the road looking confused.
In the middle of the road i saw a pair of Wellington boots and did not think anything of it.
I pulled in to the rouitier cafe called La sausis volante which means the flying sausage and the owner said a farmer was crossing the road and killed by a car.His Wellies had flown off on impact and i had to cry after that.He was milking the cows at 4am.

Isn’t there a bloke dress up as a ninja and seen to abuse the lamp post some where about I’m sure it’s been covered on here

And they say Scotsmen are mad…
