Reading your lists for requirements of how many kits you guys have, I’m amazed some of you get it in a ruck sack.
I have an article on this topic, where a number of different bags are suggested.
Perhaps it might be an interesting read.
NGT fishing carryall,Atlas fits down side upright so it’s easy to grad and bag stays rigid so nothings too hard to dig out, I’m on my second in 6 years but at £20 a pop they’re bang on…
I bought a Targus ‘laptop’ rucksack, best bag ive ever had, has absolutely tons of compartments, got it from Argos on offer for 29.99. Rather than squeeze my food in there with all my other crap I have a small ‘dj style’ over the shoulder bag for food and water. Both easy to carry and not too heavy. Most of the room in the rucksack taken up by my pillow!
This is for day driving btw, I think Id need a full set of luggage for nights out!
edit: and if you wondering why the pillow for day driving, I like to lie on the bunk to watch netflix!
adam277:
Is carrying a truckers atlas still needed these days?
I’ve managed without one and been driving hgvs for like 6 years now.
Is 6 years relevant? You have said you “don`t do tramping”.
Those who go a bit further and have more varied routes may benefit from an atlas, whereas you might not.
Someone going tramping on their first week will need an atlas more than someone going around the corner on their 25th year.

For EU work maybe.
I usually cover an area of usually from Birmingham to Bournemouth and dover to Kings Lynn. Although to be honest most of work is usually in Central London atm.
I guess to be fair if your doing farm type deliveries it could be useful as well.

Mod’s edit: Advert removed, a more interesting read might be the forum rules in your case. dd.
Thread?..maybe even the o/p ain’t even still.alive it was 10 years ago ffs.
I reckon he’ll have managed to find one by now anyway.
Indeed Rob, this is the kind of thing done by a SPAMMER… trawl up an old topic then post an advertising link (now removed ) that supports your agenda.
The post was reported, and has been dealt with.
You were certainly on the ball there Dave, I read it and never even cottoned on it was an advertising stunt, it went right over my swede …I reckon that explains why you’re a mod and I ain’t.
