Bad news Boris, they're not coming

Franglais:
Decades of laissez faire Govs have enabled the sainted “market forces*” to reign. Businesses act within laws and the financial constraints set by Govs. Let them act foolishly for a short term gain and they will.
Leaving them alone for even longer won’t fix any problems, but exacerbate them.
Letting hauliers go hang seems like justice but isn’t practical.
It IS for Government to GOVERN, not just let business make profit for itself.

*AKA the race to the bottom.

And one of the causes for the race to the bottom was an uncontrolled over supply of labour can you not see the connection? labour supply cut or about to be controlled and wages have risen if Brexit hadn’t have happened do you think we would be seeing these pay rises?

There’s a driver shortage all over, so I think there would be pay increases without Brexit. Brexit has magnified this shortage and pay hike in the UK though. I very much doubt it will be here for the long term.
The Brexit we have is NOT a protectionist one! Even if we don’t import workers we will be importing more goods produced by even cheaper labour. Clearly there will be ups and downs but the long term is bleak for UK workers as jobs will be our main export.
Sharp rises are often followed by steep losses. Boom’n’Bust is good for (lucky) market gamblers, but crap for a stabile economy.

Nice deflection good to see that you see no correlation between labour oversupply and a race to the bottom, your talents as a driver are wasted how you are not one of the country’s leading economists is a mystery with your ability to see into the future, although to be fair you would be pretty unique among economists as they have repeatedly failed to see what is around the corner

While I think Boris is an incompetent clown, let’s not forget who opened the door up to foreign workers here… Tony Blair.

I have no allegiance to any party, but it was he that opened up the floodgates, allowing all and sundry to make their way to our shores, saying it would enhance the British way of life.

Ken.

Truly amazing: you tell me (wrongly) what I think about labour supply, then go off and ignore all I actually have written.

You have written about importing workers something that does need to happen in certain areas but if it is uncontrolled as it has been since 2005 then it is easy for bosses to race to the bottom as we have witnessed and as for exporting jobs in the future no different to the past 30 years or so then

What i can remember a few years ago most EU drivers had ltd companies and they was on a winner.
No way will they come back on paye i would like to go back part time but on paye as a second job its emergency tax :frowning:

If they return will they be required to pay back their bounce back loans?

Mass immigration is the primary reason we’re in this mess (which was started decades ago)

They relied on cheap labour from foreign workers more and more as the years went by, and now it could be over by the looks of it.

This is what happens when you disrupt the harmony of a nation by bringing many different people in from vastly different cultures with different living standards. No plan in place for when they may bugger off. This was always on the cards, just a question of when.

My wages have recently gone up nearly 25% after nothing for years. Pure coincidence

And Kier Stammer says he would issue 100k visas

An excellent point mate.

I wonder if he ever found those weapons of mass destruction he went looking for that resulted in many British troops losing their lives…

Exactly.

‘enhance the British way of life’

  • Funny they never quantify/explain in detail what this is?

He knows along with everyone else they won’t come, it’s a political decision to appease the left wing
MSM and the clowns at the RHA amongst others

No its nothing to do with immigration - 12000 ees left last year while 55000 brits retired or left the industry. Thats a small percentage.

‘enhance the British way of life’

  • Funny they never quantify/explain in detail what this is?

TO enhance the “British Way Of Life” - you bring balance back to what otherwise would be an ongoing Tory dictatorship, seeing as Labour continue to refuse to do good by UK worker-voters rather than help out unthankful foreigners that taxpayer’s will never meet…

Thus, you import TWO bunches of Foreigners;

Ones who’ll never pay into the system, but will heavily vote Labour by way of Thanks
Ones who follow the capitalist system (Ie. Economic migrants, here to work) Who will then take up all the jobs, and NOT vote at ALL.

So Labour and Tory stay as the two main parties, no 90/10 or 75/25 votes taking place in our lifetimes… Imagine how easy it would be to get things done if we one day had a 500+ seat political party in power without rigging the result to achieve that.
WIth 500 seats at Westminster - you could sack any of your own incumbent MPs who so much as voted against you once on any new legislation put to the vote, let alone a three-line whip. Such a huge and rapid change of laws - would be nothing short of Revolutionary in the world of Politics. I can’t think of any massive-majority winner of an election who then used that mandate to go to war, neither - so arguments about “Right Wing Dictatorships” simply carry no weight. We should be worried about LEFT wing dicatorships a whole lot more though! Could Boris achieve this? Yes, if he stops hurting the Right that elected him in favour of former Red Wall gains.
Could Keir Starmer achieve this? Yes - if he gives the Left the scapegoats they crave - in the form of FOREIGN rich instead of British-Born Rich. Britain - shouldn’t be a haven for rich, exiled former Dictators - we have Paris already for that ffs.

Another way you could have solved the immigration issue - was to shut out everyone except those with qualifications and jobs lined up that have them paying higher rates of PAYE taxes, no offsets, no self-employed, no living abroad again for six months to avoid even basic tax…
How many millionaires apply for UK passports each year - compared to “Needy” types who will and intend to go immiediately onto Benefits, the Housing List, and queue-jump us NI payers on NHS waiting lists to boot, including getting low-paid jobs there? To find oneself in an NHS hospital these days for any prolonged period - is fast becoming as dangerous as an 8th night at Buchenwald FFS!

We never got a say on those issues, as all three main parties that are supposed to represent US the Home-grown Brit - are in fact working for enemy foreign powers 24/7 for whom there is no punishment great enough for us unworthy Brits who dared venture their opinion and vote that somehow “We are not wealthy enough to support every other bugger on the planet who wouldn’t ■■■■ on us if we were on fire”.

We don’t need the co-operation of others to enjoy ourselves, get by, have a life. Why should every third-world country still insist upon Britain being the financial whipping boy of the entire planet, to “wring hands and beg forgiveness for once being the greatest Empire the world has ever known”… Brought down by Lefties from 1948, and now relied upon by Lefties for fast-handouts at ongoing taxpayer expense…

Rant over.

This is the truth from the horses mouth so to speak
