Well guys its official, the bods down at skills for logistics have again beaten " THE DRIVER SHORTAGE IS alive and kicking, and from my interpretation of the article it would appear to be getting worse. If you look at the jobs pages and the classified adverts in papers, I have def seen an increase in job opportunities, especially in the Worcestershire / West Midlands area. What does this mean for us all? well personally I read and great with glee, and hope that my time as an agency driver will soon end…

I live in Rugby , heart of the so called " golden triangle " for warehousing and transport employment because of the proximity to the major transport networks . No manufacturing around here any more , you either drive a FLT or a truck to get work around here unless you want to stack shelves at the 2 Sainsbury , 3 Tesco , 2 Lidl , 2 Netto or the massive Asda stores in this SMALL TOWN
I have not seen any transport related employment advertised in the local papers for more than a year . Even the agencies don’t bother any more .

Yeah right loads of jobs in our local paper and probably the jobcentre too for long distance/international work £400-500 per week new drivers accepted.
