Back to Class 1 ,

Right giving up my scaffolding class 2 job.
Got tired very quickly of handballing 10 tonnes of tube a day.
(“dont bother with the HI-AB .
it,ll be quicker to pass the tube down”) :imp:

Passed my class 1 over 3 years ago but have never used it since.

Getting a refresher course , and going for it again.
just got to read up on coupling , reversing etc again.

After carring 10 tonnes of tube a day in a flat bed i have learned to big a very carefull driver.
No jumping on the breaks , etc…

I just hope after spending money on a refresher ,
I will have a better chance of a job

How many hours for a normal refresher course?
I was thinking 2 x 4hrs
1 on 1 ?

you can read up on a few bits via the link in my signature and as for refresher - a morning will do - most of mine that book a whole day are bored by lunchtime :exclamation:

Cheers ROG

But i am a bit nervous ,
and would prefer to do a bit more training
and "over compensate "
rather than make a mistake on my first c+e job.

My other plan is
When i pull in for my breaks etc.
Make sure i always do a reversing procedure with my wagon
instead of just driving nose in and parking.

Its the reversing
I think i might have forgotten

"Boldly going forward , because i cant find reverse lol "

make sure you get real life reversing on refresher - no silly cone stuff

ROG:

Will try too,
Gonna try and find a quiet industrial estate and reverse around corners etc,

Thats the plan anyway.

Gave in my notice last Thurs.
So only 4 more days then i,m a free man

I always manage to find an empty premises and back the refreshee to the door or dock

Glad to hear you are doing the sensible thing and booking a refresher drive.

We do refresher drives quiet a lot and find that four hours is fine in most cases. Of course you will be out longer because there is the obliigatory stop for trucker bacon roll and discussion about progress

We call it Trucker Training and plenty of trailer drops and reversing around awkward corners will give you renewed confidence and remind you how the artic behaves.
Good luck with the refresher and good luck with the new job.

Thanks mothertrucker.

I will be making enquiries before i agree to pay any money for my refresher to make sure i,m getting the proper training.

I,ve always got time for a bacon butty
I normally sweat it out of my system with nerves and fear

My class 2 driving has taught me,
after a good brew the world doesnt seem such a bad place

Ended my class 2 job today,

Will miss the money, but not the sore back.

Still trying to book a refresher course asap…
for the C+E
Phoned a couple in the North West but didnt have what i wanted.

Any one ever had a refresher course in the North West
