I have now left DHL after 11 years on and off and will be working for TNT . I am looking forward to be going back over the water. I am also looking forward to the stinky train and the BS stories you here on it . But as i am a newbie at TNT i may have to keep my gob shut … for a while …
Seriously though DHL let me cut my teeth on European driving albeit almost every DHL depot was just off a motorway! I nhave had some great times there and have brilliant memories. Some good blokes … and some right roasters!
I know there are a lot of DHL haters on here, but in our little department the boss is a fantastic bloke.
Please dont think there is a euopean job going at London Colney because there isnt, they only really mainly deliver to Ireland now with the occasional Brussels thrown in …
So watch out for a bright orange TNT Volvo on the corridor … it could be me driving it !!
Good luck on your travels, try and get on the back roads for a change of scenery from the fast roads, some craking eateries to be found and the Belgies love their chips with mayo.
Contrary to belief, you can park an artic near the centre of Brussels,i asked a copper,as long as not blocking the road,no problem,i have being weekended on a msa outside, and got the bus in to the city, and found a swimming pool in a village.
Not sure if All 4 trucks are still doing free coffee with so many litres of fuel, you take the receipt from the fuel pump for a voucher, and some money off food. The computers there were always broken, covered in black bin liners.

Good luck Jim. keeping your mouth shut on the train i doubt that will happen. And apart from a different colour truck you probably wont notice the difference between TNT & DHL pond hopping to own depots is much the same with any company.

The airline style ready meals, some like them, some dont.
i would not work for tnt or dhl as too many rules and regs you cant [zb] unless you tell them crap money
Thanks for that , the particular department @ DHL where I worked was *not full of rules and regs, and as for crap money, for me personally you are way off the mark.

Couldn’t be further from the mark regarding our little corner of DHL. No silly rules and regs, other than the industry wide tacho rules, and decent money for very little effort and left alone to get on with it.
