Back Door Britain

Tonight ITV 19:30 about illegals trying to enter the country. May be of interest to some.

Hmmm.
Your thread title got me all excited!
the content was not quite what I had hoped for …

i’ll avoid it…far too depressing :frowning:

It’s of no interest to me, I’m already here.

Eye opener for me…

Some french official dude on there said on camera that they would definitely consider buying all the illegals tickets to get across and then it would no longer be Calais problem, and for the time being he wished all the migrants the best of luck however they traveled, be it legally or in the back of a truck or even on the axles…

I’ve been watching it, it’s actually quite a good program, seems most of this is highly organised with clandestines being given UK SIM cards to call somebody when they get to the UK.
Drivers, residents of Calais, hauliers say the same thing. They’ve been left to deal with the problem. The Goverment official reckons the govenment are helping and backing hauliers :open_mouth: and that the fines are there for those that are careless on their checks or actually helping clandestine people entering the UK. In other words, it’s the fault of the haulage industry.
They are now trying to stowaway in campervans and caravans, so now joe public is involved, but sadly it will take the death of mr and mrs average retired couple before those that can do something actually wake up and smell the coffee.

The people and Calais are as ■■■■■■ off and helpless as those who travel through Calais. They seem to be getting little help from either theirs or the UK government, despite the fact they’ve allowed the UK border agency to do checks in Calais instead of Dover. I actually support the people of Calais and their politicians, they’re on the same side as the rest of us.

Buying tickets for them is just bypassing the system though, passing the buck back to us.

But buying a ticket wouldn’t get you into the UK as you’d still need your passport checked, if it was that easy the traffickers would do it. It was said as an expression of the frustration of the people of Calais because of the problem created by UK and EU policy, and the lack of recognition of the problem by anybody in power. After all it became Calais problem once they allowed the border agency to do their checks in Calais instead of Dover.

id think theres a lot more here already than anybody realizes. twice this year iv been asked have i any work by total strangers straight off the boat

Just make them all French nationals, job done.
Trouble is they only have eyes for the uk :unamused: :unamused:

Nah it wasn’t, it was said because if they had a ticket over the water then it becomes Dover’s problem once they land…

wait till the winter starts ,what are they going to do for them open soup kitchens and shelter them, there gunna freeze to death, none of them come from cold countries :open_mouth:

I didn’t watch the programme, but i get the general jist of it given the recent media reports.
In the last few days, week or whatever there was a BBC news item on the immigrants coming in from Scicily/Africa and arriving in Italy. Italy are actually helping the immigrant boats ashore now (into Italy) as so many have drowned/capsized or whatever trying to get there.
Once ashore in Italy they are health checked and coached off to various camps across Europe. As said by one of the immigrants…we want to get to Britain, we where a British colony and we speak English so thats where we want to go. It is hard to argue against his logic. Obviously as said here before, the French speaking ones want to go to France etc…
Seeing as the EU operates pretty much “borderless controls” and promotes the free movement of people due to the Schengen Agreement, then the only fly in the ointment is the British Channel for any illegal wanting to make it to the UK (not in the Schengen Agreement Area).
Maybe i’m missing a trick, but if a UK truck goes to France and comes back with “illegals” from say…Syria in the back of his lorry then this is entireley due to the Schengen agreement. Assuming of course the truck hasn’t actually been to Syria. Maybe if the UK was in the Schengen Agreement Area then drivers could not be fined for people being on board illegally
It is after all, not a UK problem nor a Calais problem. Its an EU problem created by American Foreign policy. And there’s no signs of it stopping, its getting worse. And of course even though the Schengen Agreement participants have “no borders”, that does not mean they have “no borders” with neighbours (like ourselves) who have no such agreement. So i reckon the Schengen partners should pay for their external border controls.
Or, if you’re found (as a driver) to be bringing in illegals, just say “Italy” said its ok !!
