B O B Anniversary

It’s 85 years today since 15 9 40 when the Luftwaffe started the first wave of the invasion of Britain, which became known as ‘‘The Battle of Britain’’.

GB News has been full of it all day.
Has msm done the same, not sure, or is it yet another proud moment of Britush history that has either been changed perspective, or swept under the carpet in fear of ’ offending’’ somebody or another.:roll_eyes:

Is all this stuff still on the school history curriculum or is it another banned subject in schools now.

Absolute disgrace the political agenda in some schools nowadays .:face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

Local Evening news on BBC has been featuring the story of Sir Keith Park’s relatives visiting the Capel Le Ferne memorial and his statue there.

The location, although only small, is stunning and well worth a visit if you have never been.

The compulsory teaching of WW 2 seems to have been dropped in 2014

We get a BOB reminder with the Biggin Hill 2 seater Spitfire rides going over 3 or 4 times virtually every day, if the flying weather is OK.

Yeah I once stopped to have a look at the memorial in Kent…quite impressive.
Off the A2 or A20 was it.
It’s a while since I was there as I remember I had just come off the ferry, and last time I did that was 16 yrs ago.

As for the school curriculum I aint surprised.
They are more likely to cover the life of Nelson Mandela or a distorted history of 'kin Palestine or something nowadays :roll_eyes:

Just found out today there is a museum in Blackpool where a lot of Spitfire and Hurricane pilots trained apparentlly…
Now I know it’s there I’ll be paying it a visit sometime soon.

Always thought that the spirits of the casualties said if they are going to make a film about us we’ll have to show them how to make it and end it.That end scene had divine intervention.

It is off the old A20 New Dover rd, now by-passed following the building of the Roundhill Tunnel.
