Has anyone worked or currently working for them? If so what are they like and do they take on new passes?

Coulthards do Scotland and north of England, but the wages are crap!
They have their own learner vehicle at Speke so I imagine they are open to newbies. Need to be careful with route planning due to the trailer heights, particularly for the London stores!
Soon to be brought out by Asda

Or not, seeing as how Asda have just launched a redundancy consultation for 1000’s of staff as they have just posted their lowest financials since Walmart took them over.
Sainsburys & Nisa…now that might go ahead.

They took me on as a newbie 2 years ago. Wouldn’t see a problem getting in there as long as you show your competent. I didn’t last long there. I didn’t like it but each to there own. I don’t like supermarket work and wouldn’t like to return to it but I suppose there’s a lot worse places to get some work under your belt.

Maybe the redundancies are to pay for it?
Sainsburys are making redundancies in the middlle of buying nisa

Definitely 100% NOT being bought out by Asda/Walmart…or anyone else for that matter! … Heard it from horses mouth, and I work there.

You mean Simon Arora (B&Ms CEO) told a wagon driver the companies plans. Hmmmm, can’t see that happening tbh.

No. A couple of weeks ago a written notice was put out by the B & M owners to all staff, telling them that B & M planned to continue expanding, and would definitely not be sold or taken over by any third party anytime soon. We were all assured that there would be no takeover.

From personal experience the staff are last to know. It is all announced to the city first as is market sensitive information.
Things change so whilst they may not plan on selling if the right offer comes in they would

It also says ‘Polo’ on the side of buses but they don’t sell them! [emoji57] If there’s enough dough offered it’s for sale or takeover. I believe there’s some very ‘astute’ board members at B&M who invested or joined from some other rather large retailers. The original brothers who started it no longer own it but are on the board I believe [emoji848]

I have some…
Magic beans, would you like to buy them?
A company I worked for 20 years ago assured me everything was ok And nothing was changing , at the time I was due to complete the purchase of my 1 st house , then surprise surprise the company closed , got a phone call on my way up from London Friday afternoon saying that was it were out of a job , landed me right in the ■■■■ .
General rule of thumb for me now is never believe or trust anything I’m told !

…after reading some of your posts in recent weeks, I’m surprised that you’ve got any of those magic beans left to sell to anyone else!!
Usually, when these people say everything is fine," were not closing down/ or making redundancies/ or being taken over," it usually happens.
Management denying a buyout = bend over and kiss your arse goodbye, we’re already figuring out how many yachts and/or additional houses we can buy after we’ve palmed you plebs off to some of our mates.
I would be surprised if there was any truth in Asda buying out B&M. B&M have only recently just bought out a frozen food company to compliment it’s business. Heron Frozen Foods is now under B&M ownership. Although it is to remain under the Heron name only.
I pass about 4 B+M wagons when im coming through Bath in the night. Or saying that think they they might be Home Bargains.
