Without knowing anything about B&M, I’d suggest that the whole reason that they are prepared to train up VAN drivers, is because the job is crap and experienced Class 1 drivers won’t touch it. So if you do go for it, be aware that they will pay for the training, but if you leave within a set time, you’ll be expected to pay them back for the training! I personally wouldn’t be beholden to any company on terms like that and would move heaven and earth to pay for my own training, and be a FREE man!

B&M are ALWAYS looking for drivers,in their goods in there is job ads on the walls for the place in every plausible language…tells its own story.

I went to the open day at B&M about 18 months ago when they opened the second warehouse in speke. After sitting through the slide show presentation and being told how good the company is, how they have all the new trucks, offer free cpc training, and all the other usual B.S. and you can have all that and earn £7.50 p/h I politely declined the assessment and left. I think they pay more now because they failed to recruit many drivers but it’s still poor pay. On that open day they advertised training for class 2 drivers and more than half of the people who attended at the same time as me were people wanting the training. Then in the presentation he said they were only taking 5 class 2 drivers as a trial. There were a lot of disappointed people there

They are paying £11 ph now

They have these open days every year. Looks to me like they are always willing to train people up. They are certainly always looking for drivers. I done a stint there a while back and would work there again
They have you driving all over the place so the odd unexpected night out is likely.not the best job going as the recruitment drive suggests but there’s worse out there. They will want you to work one weekend day and the unloading can be a bit of a graft but as i say. I would work there again no problems

The above 2 posts suggest it may not be so bad after all.

If i lived up that way i would have a look at it…
