I’ve been quoted £1335 for 15 hours training in Portsmouth and was thinking that was quite expensive.
Thanks for that its gave me something to compare to now I don’t feel its so bad
£849 in Chelmsford for 12 hours plus a free retest day if needed plus 14 hours CPC done during the course
Just so you can compare different parts of the country.
As always an assessment drive is the best possible use of your time. Price and location are important but passing the test and being comfortable with the trainer are more important.

Hi John
To be able to offer CPC as part of a driving course is a great idea and is a real bonus for anyone taking a course.
Not too sure how 14 hours of CPC can be given for a 12 hour training course though??
John
14 hours ok if 2 to 1 but not 1 to 1
I did my class 2 with AVT, Did my class one with another company , one was a much nicer experience than the other
Bit late saying this now but you should
of got a discount voucher from PSTT

Fair comment Rog- but maybe that should have been explained - saves any confusion then

Can sort something out if you want to pm me.
Pete
You are right John I should have explained it a bit better but of course it is 2 to 1. Basically a 3 day course from 8-4 but can’t offer CPC on test day. So just the 14 hours
Sorry for any confusion.
Thanks for the prompt reply John.
It is definitely a great deal getting CPC hours on any driving course.
Good luck to everyone taking training at the moment
John

A quick question to the trainers on here…
What would be the form if your man Kyle here went to the test station in Shrewsbury and asked the examiners their opinion on the best trainers?
Would they be able to tell him or at least give a friendly opinion or is that out of the question?

Ask them who they would send their relative to for local training
Hello,
I have recently passed both C & C+E artic (2 minors) at Shrewsbury test centre. I trained with Top Gear (Halesowen) and they are obviously highly recommended by me and have a very good pass rate.
Brian Dulson training are based next to the test centre and always seem friendly enough when chatting. I think they use wag & drag.

Kyle , as I said did my class 1 with Pete smythe , ok it was a 2 hr drive there but the b& b was included in the price couldn’t fault the training at all , it was 11 months ago I did my traing with them .
Did my class 2 with AVT , I didn’t like his teaching style much to be honest , before I booked with him I asked if he did acessments , he said no should of took that as a warning sign I guess. ( I did scrape a 1st time pass with him tho )
I have no experience of Brian dulson , but I see his traing vehicles all the time in shrewsbury and seems to have a good reputation locally .
There is also RTITB at Telford they do training with wag/drag or artic I believe .
If I had to do it all again I know who I would use
Good luck with it who ever you choose to go with

cheers I did my class 2 with Brian Dulson, i did think they were quite good but at the same time I didn’t really get on with my instructor so I’m giving them a miss this time.
I have had a look at the RTITB and already it seems like much more of what I am after £1036 for 16 hours including test and you can do the course how ever you want to do it as far as lesson times ages lengths.
with AVT i was basically just told when my lessons were how long they were for and when my test was all within 1 week so thanks again
