I wouldn’t let Amey look after a wheelbarrow never mind a bridge.
Pursy
Most of the staff working on the bridge will have been with FETA and probably with many years of experience there.
Yeah all those experienced staff, they the same ones that have missed 8 large cracks in the foundations? 8 ffs not just 1. 1 you can put down to it just happening. Face it when the toll went so did feta and the cheapest brigade they could find was put in its place.
Bridge is shut, M8 is shut in both directions thanks to a ■■■■■■■ FedEx jacknifing and the M9 is shut because of severe flooding! Where was the warnings about this storm, few weeks ago the amount of hype about storm Abigail and she turned out to be a big ■■■■■.
It is Dozys fault, he drove over the bridge with a hundred ton trailer then dumped the trailer and legged it, it was so heavy, the legs went through the tarmac.
Then Raymundo finished off the bridge good and proper by navigating his ship with an over height load after being ten times over the legal limit, and being gasses and robbed in Oslo.
So no money to pay for repairing the crack.
Shame on you both.
Get yer facts right please Tobes, cant go ten times over height as wouldn’t be able to see where I was going and four times over the limit is my maximum providing we aren’t going to somewhere that the authorities are liable to be cos then it’s only twice
Brilliant!
So nice to have piece from the fifers in West of Edinburgh rush hour , took me 20 mins to work on friday, usually 30 ! 10 of which shoulder barging.
I think the bridge is doomed!
There is a bus and HGV prioritisation plan being implemented today for the A985.
The A985 between the Cairneyhill and Longannet roundabouts will be for buses, HGVs and local residents only. All other traffic will be redirected onto other roads (I’m not sure if this means through Culross or towards Oakley).
All other through traffic will be directed away from the A985 - westbound will be via the A907 and eastbound up the A977 and onto the B913 - although those roads will be open as normal to traffic in both directions.
Longannet to Cairneyhill will be exclusively for buses, HGVs and local residents (who will get a letter to permit them access), and the rest of the A985 will be open as normal, but with other traffic diverted away should be quieter. I don’t know if there are any restrictions on through traffic going through Culross.
I was told by a family friend who is a engineer on the bridge it could very possibly run until march/April before a full fix is complete.
And when its fixed it wont be open to any high sided vehicles other than buses once the repair is done forever well if he is right that wont go down to well the the industry.
■■■■ being the poor sod that has to stand there in hi-viz, hard-hat & stop/go board, in the ■■■■■■■ rain, all night, playing with a ■■■■■■■ stop-watch!
