Well, I thought I was onto a winner with my job, might have to reconsider now that I’ve seen this beauty…
ur joking rite
Oh so it’s true then, Owen Doesn’t Pay:!::!::!::lol:
I bet there was a line of drivers willing to be paid peanuts for a nights graft though also. Sad but true company’s like this deserve to be run into the ground because they have no respect for the people who are earning them their mega bucks salaries.

Aldi pay more than that on days in their shop stock rooms
Seems to be the unwritten agreement between a lot of Welsh firms to keep the wages around the same all over.
To be. Fair to them they operate in one of the poorest regions of Europe, I have worked for them and apart from the pay found them to be good employers.
They run to make money and are not a charitable organisation if they can get drivers for that money why should they pay more.
What concerns me more is the state of the Welsh economy that results in pay like this after 15 years of the labour inspired Welsh Assembly Government.
Got TUPE.d to owens from Stillers so was on a better pay scheme but only had one pay rise in 8years every body including the yard cat are on different pay rates …Suited me though just did 2 days took home £210/£220 “after” stoppages for 2 days per week did that for eight years. Nobody works hard on Owens…

Fair point - I have never seen such a gap between “well off” and “poor” as when I moved down here.
There is money in wales it just seems to keep in certain circles.
I feel a bit if a hypocrite really cos I work in England (same firm I did before I moved) so I can’t really say I experience the “wage cap”.

Don’t you mean there is money in Cardiff?
Well yeah I’d agree it is mainly Cardiff but for every street of basic, under maintained housing there is a huge, many bedroomed house. Not all are solicitors, councillors etc so someone is making money.
We are not talking Alderley Edge proportions but definitely money knocking about in some circles.
and people on here slag off stobarts pay rates??

maybe if they made people pay for their prescription’s and stopped giving away the blue badge parking permits out willy nilly they the welsh assembly might make a few quid
Not often ill comment on a wage thread but just lmao.
Surely they are not getting drivers at that price?!!?!?
Edit: just seen the tinder icon in the top left. You having much luck lad?
I work in Avonmouth out of 200 or so employed drivers roughly 90% are from Wales a few
Of them have close to a 100 mile commute to work, that is the state if employment.
Sure there is money in Cardiff which is a very nice city, drive 20 minutes north and you will reach some of the poorest communities in Europe the assembly have had over 2 billion in E.U grants to regenerate these areas and have wasted every penny with little or nothing to show for it, you don’t see this reported in the English media.
Some parts of Wales now receive the same level of E.U funding as Romania.

25k a year for this.
Yet drivers still accept the ■■■■ wages posted above.
It makes no difference if the work is easy or what part of the country it is that pay is a insult
they will start allsorts. take the side out of a truck and not bat an eyelid…

blame Thatchers government for closing the pits. just the same as in Yorkshire, Scotland, Kent, Derbyshire and the East Midlands. once the pits went so did the incomes and community pride in these areas. Grimethorpe near me has took 20 year to get back on its feet. Everyone who lived there worked down the pit, once that went it turned into a ghost town full of junkies etc as nobody needed to go visit it or go through it.
Now with ASOS, Sash, Yorkshire Brick and Symphony Group based on the Park Springs ind estate the people of the Derne Valley and Grimthorpe have a brighter future ahead of them. Just like Barnsley the pits in the Valleys were the backbone of the community and once the miners finished their shifts they would go spend their hard earned in the pubs, bookies and takeaways in the villages and towns. Sorry for diverting away from the original topic
ffs that’s a insult my local chippy paying £10 hr for fish fryer and they don’t need to provide a digi card/cpc or have to pay for there own licence to fry fish the job market must be terrible if they can get drivers at that rate owens should be embarrassed with that add
