Average speed camera and variable speed cameras?

what different between average and variable speed cameras???average camera check speed in fixed distance.what do variable camera??

I would think your talking about the cameras that are in a managed speed area such as the M42 and soon the M4 /M5 where the speed can be managed ie reduced set speed limits enforced at peek traffic flows for instance … in which case when a 50 /40 etc limit is brought it force the cameras are switched to enforce that limit

As I understand them average speed cameras are set at a constant speed, usually through roadworks but not limited to that. There is one on the A1 south of Doncaster, elkesley village, set at 50mph. Variable speed cameras can have their speeds changed, usually found on the motorways to try and regulate the traffic at peak times.

Just brake for no apparent reason whenever you see one!
After all,30 million car drivers can’t be wrong ■■

Average speed cameras measure your speed between 2 or more fixed points. Variable cameras measure your speed as you pass the camera but the speed limit at that point is variable.
