Bloody hell, thats less than I paid in 1992!
I 've done my medical £70 it goes up to £200 you need to search for good prices .
£80 for theory ,hazard ,cpc theory,
£870 for 5 days training but some places goes up to £1600 £1700
£175 for cpc training include cpc practical test.
if you can find cheaper places you can save huge money mate.
Hi all,
Just looking for advice on the average cost of Cat C Practical Training. I have been quoted £1,706 for 5 days training including test fee and training on mod 4 of cpc. This does not include the mod 4 test fee. This is a quote from a reputable training company, not one of these fly by night brokers.
Appreciation in advance,
Gav
It worked out at 1150 plus test fee of 115 all inclusive for me. Having said that I need a retest. But that’s due to my silly mistakes not the quality of training.

Hi
Training providers have various methods of pricing their products.
We break it into 3 bits:
Starter - medical, online theory training, theory tests £165
Prac Cat C course and test £1150
Driver cpc - online theory training, theory test, practical training, use of vehicle for test, test fee £275
All prices fully inclusive of VAT at current rate.
But then there are other things to weigh up e.g Quality of vehicle/instructor/training centre, availability of tests, whether there is a charge for retest. Then consider pass rate. Sadly trainers are not inclined to divulge this but they should do if they’re proud of it. eg. we have 8 tests and 8 passes this week.
In our case, we don’t charge for the vehicle for a retest and folk from outside our local area benefit from free good quality B+B.
The best advice, as has been said time and time again on this forum, is to visit the training centre. If you like what you see then consider booking. Any good trainer will welcome such a visit.
When it comes to prices be aware that some don’t include VAT which can come as a nasty surprise!
Good luck with your search and hope you enjoy your training and get through the test without drama.

Hi,
I did mine a couple of weeks ago with a local company in Exeter…(although they provide a vehicle and instructor to Plymouth) and i paid 990 for the 5 days training and test fee, they threw in a free theory day aswell which was well received.
It does pay to shop around, i think anyway.

I paid £1070 for class C training (5days) and the price included test and use of vehicle. for CPC training, i went with Jcoates and paid £290 for training and test (same day).
Like natsdad said, it does pay to shop around. DONT GO WITH BROKERS THOUGH! they`ll nick yer arms and legs!
It does, definitely.
Although i paid 990, the other lad with me went through Advantage and paid 1500. I also looked at easyashgv initially and they were going to put me on my class c the first week and c+e the second week. I thought it was strange as i wouldnt have the provisional for the c+e so went local.
I used SRTS in Exeter and cant praise them enough.

Hello
As Peter says training providers have different methods for arriving at their prices.
We take the view that candidates want to know from the outset what the total cost will be. We therefore collect a few details then provide a quote based on their individual circumstances. For example some people have already applied for the provisional or perhaps even passed the theory. Other differences include whether they need the Initial Driver CPC or not and perhaps even whether they will need bed and breakfast for the course…
For someone starting from scratch we charge £1199 and this includes the medical, theory training and test and the Cat ‘C’ driver training and test. The customer may then choose from either the Driver CPC (inc test fees) or unlimited retest training (until they pass) or a 2 day C+E course (inc test fee). We can do this in 2 days as we use a drawbar trailer with the candidate taking the test in the same vehicle as the Cat ‘C’ test.
As always it pays to shop around and above all go and take a look at the company you are thinking about using. A tin of beans is a tin of beans is a tin of beans. It is not the same with LGV training companies.
Interesting that no one mentioned wheather they were one on one or double manned.Any thing that involves burocracy and insurance and diesel will be expensive.I dont think that I would be able to pay for training at todays rates when you consider the low wages that drivers are working for I have to ask is the possible end result worth the input?
in redditch i payed £1290 for 7 days training and test, and i was taught alone, just me and instructor in the cab, i had allready passsed my theory and hazard perception though
Hi,
all good advice here. Price is an issue but NOT the most important factor. DSA qualified and well maintained vehicles is number 1.
Please google my user name and visit the 1st under natural listings.
Good luck
