I have a picture on a word doc - how do i use it in my avatar as it is 204 KB - at least is says that when i go to PROPERTIES.

Ok this may sound complicated but it’s not really. 
Open your word doc and right click on your image.
You should be able to save the image as file on your PC i.e your desktop.
Upload it to a pic hosting site like Photobucket.
Paste a link to it in your TN profile, in the Avatar control panel, link to an off site avatar.
You won’t be able to link it to your word doc, hence why you need to save off the image seperately.

I’m lost 
- You can do.
- When you right click on the picture, a menu should appear with “Save picture as…”. Click on that and follow the prompts through from there.
- Look in the Photo Forum and you’ll find a a Sticky with instructions on how to do this. If you use Photobucket ( www.photobucket.com - follow the instructions there to register an account) it will give you the option to upload the picture as an avatar, and resize it accordingly. Just do what it tells you on the site.
- Go into your profile, scroll to the bottom, slap the appropriate link in the box marked “Link to off-site Avatar:” at the bottom, and submit.
See it’s easy.
OK - I have put a picture size 4kb and 80 x 80 pixels from my machine into my avatar but it does not show anywhere - why? - just got a red X
Because you haven’t uploaded it to the Net. Go back and read all the above again.

The uploading thing doesn’t seem to work these days, choose option 3 - Link to off-site Avatar - by pasting the url of your image into the box next to that choice. That will work.

The size thing isn’t so important when you link to an off-site avatar, you can go larger than 80x80. Try to keep it fairly small though, excessively large images will be removed as they mess up the page layout.

use the e-mail link under my signature and send your avatar pic on an attachment. I will put it on my photobucket account and send you the url link by replying to your e-mail, to put in your profile - sorted
