have successfully downloaded a avatar(correct size)but it will not show why?
When you say ‘downloaded’ I take it you mean onto your computer.
It now needs to be uploaded onto this sites avatar store.
If you click on ‘Profile’ just above beside the Trucknet UK trademark at the top of the page you will go to your profile page. At the bottom of the page there are three lines to do with avatars. The top one, labelled ‘Upload Avatar from your machine’, is the one you want. Click the browse button and go to the location on your machine where your avatar is. Ensure that you have highlighted the correct file and click on the save button. Your avatar should then upload onto the site and hey presto.
If you’ve done all that, but written download instead of upload by mistake. I can’t help without something a bit more specific to work on.

I’ve got the asme problem. My avatar is within the size limits but all I get is a red cross in a small square.
By the way I cannot find a “save” button but there is a “submit”

Let me have the url for the image you want to use.
When you have located the image you wish to use, right click on it, go to Properties, and copy the Http:// bit.

I have had the same problem for 6 months, and to make it worse, I cannot see Krankees example, unless it is supposed to be a red cross in a square box 
With Internet Explorer, if you are seeing a red cross in a white box then try going to
Tools>Internet Options>Advanced then click on Restore Defaults.
If you don’t want to restore the defaults just tick the box in the Multimedia section that says Show Pictures…

what i did was go to …
choose what i wanted shrinked using…

download pixresizer its easy to use
then put my avater to be in photobucket which i use for storing my pics on here then highlighted the url then put it on profile page load url from other site .
and bingo.
still not happening for me.how come its only this website that i have a problem,help please.

just spent 30 minutes trying all to no avail.have come to the conclusion that someone here likes playing silly buggers.

That’s the site I used and entered the URL into the ‘link to off site avatar’ box on the profile section. I tried to use the ‘upload from my machine’ facility but got the red cross so I don’t think it always works.
Nope. Still can’t get my [zb] to work either.
