What about the new bit of the A1M between the M1split (just south of the A1/A64 junction) and the new junction of the M62/A1M (just by Ferrybridge Services and the power station)?

I’ve got a 3 week old tomtom 910 and that doesn’t know about the new road - it keeps showing you as in the middle of a field and giving you some strange instructions to get back on the dual carriageway!!

You could also look if there is a by-pass shown around Limavady (N. Ireland) - most mapping software still tries to take you through the middle of town and doesn’t recognise the route if you use the by-pass. (or at least it didn’t last time I was there!!)

I have a Mio C210. It’s not too bad going south, only “getting lost” between the old A1 and the M62 slip.North-bound,it just totally loses the plot.Tells me to turn left onto the n/bound M62/A1 slip :open_mouth: :open_mouth: . Going from e/bound M62 to s/bound A1 it is spot on.
The new Auchenkilns junction at ■■■■■■■■■■■ is shown on the Mio,and this opened about the same time as Ferrybridge

Try Liverpool to Felixstowe, it doesn’t work on the older ones. Well it does but it sends you across Bedford or if you asl for an alternative route it sends you the M25 and back up!!

Autoroute 2007 mapping:

Ferrybridge not updated…

Liverpool - Felixstowe now routes you M6, A14, M11, A120 & A12 and then back on to A14…

I think it depends on your speed settings mine (2006) directed me M62, M6, A14
on my copy of Autoroute 2002 ( I kept it for Eastern Europe maps)it went via M25 taking 10 minutes longer than A14 route

Same here!! However newer version of AutoRoute I have loaded, I still keep the 2002 version on for the same reason!!

* * * * * ARkeys - Hotkeys for Microsoft AutoRoute 2007 ! * * * * *

The new version supporting AR 2007 is now available for (free) download.

What’s New:

  • Easier than ever. Even a non-geek can now learn how to use Microsoft AutoRoute 2007 as a GPS navigation tool in 60 seconds or less - just by memorizing three or four hotkeys.

  • It even adds automatic re-routing to your new Microsoft AutoRoute 2007

It’s not perfect, but it works

Does that mean they have finally built some roads in Romania?

No, it just means that Autoroute 2007 has what roads there are, in its database now.

Small database lol

Try the A89 which will eventually be the Bordeaux-Prague (maybe even Beijing??) autoroute. If it goes right through from Perigueux to Brive, then it’s ahead of its time, but if as far as Terrason and then restarts at about Larche then it’s bang up to date.
There was a long running planning dispute in that area. Funny thing is Terrasson is a nightmare for traffic now whereas before it was just bad. I suppose the AR has encouraged more to travel that way. :unamused:

Hi guys,

Quite a lot of improvement in functionality over the past couple of weeks…

  • Start AutoRoute with ANY combination of your favorite GPS features

  • One-click access to switching to any map orientation mode right from the Full-Screen Navigation mode

  • hotkey to pause / resume all GPS features

  • many other interesting features were added…

Enjoy!

Quite a lot has changed over the past few weeks. Several interesting features have been added to AR Keys. Click the above picture to view the complete list of currently available features.

It looks like you’ve been busy Marvin.

I’m using version 1.06 on an old laptop with AR 2006 installed. It’s my main navigation aid for delivering around Europe.
How compatable is AR Keys 2.16 with AR 2006?

Simon, AR Keys version 2.16 will not work at all with AR 2006  . While starting, it looks for the new AR 2007 in the registry. This became necessary to do since the program is now compatible with both, the European AutoRoute, and the North American Streets & Trips. But even if I attempted to make it compatible with the 2006 version, only a handful of features could work. That’s due to many features of the version 2.■■ taking advantage of the new Full-Screen Navigation mode in AR 2007.

Since you are a user of AR Keys 1.06, I can tell you there is a huge difference between version 1.■■ and the new 2.■■. While in the v.1 each hotkey toggled just one single feature of AutoRoute, the new v.2 does something completely different. Version 2 integrates into hotkeys many many many more mouse-clicks and keystrokes than version 1 ever did.

For example, in your version 1.06 if you wish to 1.) start AutoRoute with 2.) GPS Tracking enabled, and 3.) Arrange map view enabled, and 4.) Rotate map view enabled… How many hotkeys do you need to press? 5 at least? In the new version 2 it only takes 1 (one) hotkey. That’s because version 2 is not attempting to be a “remote control” to each individual button or each individual check box or each radio-button in AutoRoute, but instead version 2 is task-oriented. What does a user want to achieve at a particular point? A user never cares about a radio-button or a check box. Instead, a user wants to for example start driving right after he entered his destination address into the Route Planner. Such a simple request would in AutoRoute normally take several keystrokes and mouse-clicks… In AR Keys v.2 you just press a single key to achieve this (and other common tasks). Do you wish to change map orientation on the fly? Press one hotkey. You are driving and you wish to quickly change route preferences to avoid for example toll roads or highways? Again, one hotkey is all it takes.

Ha ha, sorry for the advertisement, but I got passionate again

Marvin Hlavac:

No problem Marvin.

Thanks for the detailed reply.

I think you covered all the bases there :open_mouth:  :sunglasses:

In recent weeks more new features were added to AR Keys. Some of them may be of interest to drivers of large vehicles.

  • It is now possible to “save” preferred road types, and then, just by a click of a hotkey, apply the settings to the route.

  • The automatic re-routing feature made possible by AR Keys is popular among small vehicle drivers, but not practical, nor safe, by operators of large trucks. It is now possible to disable automatic re-routing.
