Doing my class 1 with these in Hinkley in the new year through a company who I’ll work for. Anyone used them? What trucks do they have for class 1?
This is the link to their website which shows some pictures of trucks

Only odd thing I found about them is they say the trainers are DVSA approved but the actual company doesn’t appear to be. Peter will know a lot more about that than me, so maybe that’s normal for many companies, but would seem logical to have the whole setup DVSA approved IMO at least.
Seem to have been established a long time at least so presumably must be doing something right.
Cheers Pete, searched the website they use a Volvo - Auto.
Obviously if I had the choice it would be with you as a gained my Class 2 through you but it’s not up to me.

I noticed this as well but didn’t say anything as, for once, didn’t want to be provocative!
If their claim to have DSA Reg instructors is correct and they have their own driving test centre, then there is very little standing between them and full DVSA Accreditation.
Makes you wonder why it hasn’t happened.

Summut up here, someones kidnapped Peter as this just isn’t him!
UKmember - Is someone else paying for this course as Hinkley seems a long way to drive for an HGV course. Nice town centre admittedly, albeit with some “interesting” roads, and a couple of good cafes, but Peter’s place apparently has a good coffee machine and it’s a bit closer.
As for the trucks, if they’re Volvo’s then that’s a good thing regardless of the DVSA question (they’re not Merc autos!).
Peters coffee machine is 2nd to none!
That companies website also looks like it was designed with crayons. The trailer pictured looks a bit ropey.
Also can someone enlighten me on what modula 4 CPC is?
The site reads to me like it was written by a non English native. I have nothing against “foreigners” but if they can’t get the spelling on their website correct and to read fluently what will the training quality be like?
Used them for an artic refresher and Alan there was first class.
Well as Peter may remember that I’m actually living in Tenerife but managed to get a job with a firm that will pay for the Class 1 upgrade and they use ATT. I will be in Nottingham, so not too far.
I only clicked on the home page link admittedly, but didn’t see a car transporter, going by their name I thought that they must offer car transporter training.
I done both my tests there gr8 lads used the test centre in weedon when I done it but they were applying for there yard to become s test centre the DVLA come to there yard to test now and mainly driving around Nuneaton for your test Kev is the manager nice Bloke his daughter works the reception n Scott and Allan do the training but I think Scott may have left now, few lads I work with done there test there aswell very helpful bunch
I think they could do with investing a little bit in the web site, especially the speiling mistuks, but then since that was my job for 14 years I guess I’m biased. It might be a good sign however that they don’t have time to fiddle with that if they are training all the time.
Thanks for the information, seems like a good company. Agree with the website

Agreed trevHCS; but quite often, training providers employ others to develop their websites.
A lot of the ‘old school’ training providers aren’t focused on web-stuff, and the people who write the web-stuff for them don’t always fully understand the training industry.
From my experience, the quality of a training provider’s web site isn’t always an indicator of the quality of the training.
It’s fair to say that a flashy looking website might well mask crap training, and conversely… a great training provider might well have an awful looking website.
I honestly don’t think that any conclusion on the quality of the training can be drawn from simply looking at any training provider’s website, because even accreditations don’t always give a full picture.
The best advice is to visit several training providers, then what is seen and heard is a good basis for comparison if the same questions are asked of each of them.
Got agree with what you are saying there Dave, but the website is their shop window if you like. It doesn’t have to be flashy but surely spelling correctly is quite important? Would certainly put me off, rightly or wrongly
This comment is not directed at the trainer being discussed. But there’s a terrific amount of misinformation and downright lies on some trainers’ websites. The fact is that some of the websites don’t even represent trainers. They are simply brokers who will happily take your money, sit on it as long as possible, and then eventually send you to the cheapest trainer they can find. So that will be top quality then!
I agree that it’s impossible to judge the quality of training from the presentation of the website - but folks ought to listen when the lies and misrepresentation is pointed out.
I’m an “old school” trainer who certainly doesn’t know one end of a website from the other, but I pay someone else a lot of money and spend a lot of time with them making sure that my website is up to date and factually correct.
In this unregulated industry, buyer beware.

Agreed NickW88 and I take your point fully, first impressions do count for a lot but then I think it’s fair to have some regard to the saying about judging a book by its cover.
As a minimum, my own expectation would be to see a good standard of spelling and grammar along with the correct use of terminology as long as it’s kept straightforward.
The nitty-gritty details can be gained from a phone conversation followed up by a visit.
BTW, I’m not commenting on ATT’s website, but speaking of my own expectations in general terms only.
