Austria Euro 3

Hi and Good day to all,

Does anyone know if it’s still ok to transit Austria with Euro 2

Regards

Many thanks,

do you know if there are any changes due soon?

Regards

HAVE a look through this link where AUSTRIA is concerned
as reagrds maut and the go-box, do not forgetthe night driveing ban
plus if you use the brenner at NIGHT it costs double,
where are you going what about useing the train it might be cheaper
the from WÖRGL–TRENTO IS ONE ROUTE;
the charge per kilometer is 27cents ensure that your GO-BOX

WORKS and that it has enough MONEY ON THE ACCOUNT

as the fines are so high you will really regret it !!!

WHERE ARE YOU COMEING FROM AND GOING TO BY THE WAY;

HERE

EURO–2 IS STILL OKAY

Thank you for the further info, I’m ok with the Maut and the go-box.
We run from UK-Greece and then reload Italy back to UK, most of the time we use Germany/Austria outward and return via Suisse.

Regards

Tony

I’m confused. I posted a reply just after the first post and now it has disappeared, that is why it appears Tony is saying thank you to nothing in his second post. :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:

Wonder where my post went?

JJSL; IF YOUR TRAILER IS 4:00HIGH how about you useing the TRAIN

at novera,WHY he say, --Because it saves you the problem of getting
custom documents,time and trouble with the border-crossing I–CH
and the added costs of transitting swiss also the problems with the
transit route, cost of the road charge about 175–200€ roughly,

The train takes roughly 9hrs from NOVERA through to
FREIBURG (GERMANY);HERE BY USEING THE RIGHT ROADS
YOU COULD GET AWAY without paying the german maut to cross
into FRANCE then up to LUX or across FRANCE to the docks,
the rates are if you look at them not that bad,plus you have less
wear and tear on vehicle and the driver,
if you look on the useful links site the web site for the trains is there its inENGLISH AS WELL-
Another plus point is if you are comeing from the UKyou can drive ona SUNDAY when you have a fax confirming your place on the train
also on the holidays,you can ask the ticket office all aabout this
plus they do allow weights up to 42–44tn fully freighted,
also if the vehicle is lighter the charges are less,

well worth a look at,

Hi Pete,
Have been thinking about using the trains either Suisse or Germany/Austria but it seems that from information that I have received, it’s been very hard to get the bookings due to the number of old eastern bloc trucks using the trains and the fact that most are paying cash! So they tend to put them first. All our vehicles are 4mtrs and we only ran at 28 ton. The biggest problem we have is with the Suisse, they will not reduce to vehicle weights, so we are charged at 40 ton.
Have tried many times to find out the correct dept to write to but, without much luck and the people that I have spoken to in Suisse find it very hard, even with the documents showing 28 ton to believe that we operate at this weight.

I had a couple of problems with the Swiss tax because I ran at 31 tonnes and although the vehicle was registered on the Swiss system at that weight I had a couple of ‘discussions’ at border crossings. Contacting the above sorted the problem. :smiley: :smiley:

JJSL GET YOUR BOSS TO SPEAK DIRECT WITH the

the hucki-pack as i can.t belive this as there are enough

trains if you look at the site and the timetable,as for paying
cash when your boss states that he will have so many vehicles
every week doing a regular run then it should not be a problem
if he has worrys because of not speaking german,THEY DO HAVE
people who speak english, any problems then if he wants a translator
just tell us,
by the way the costs for a 28TN LOADED TRUCK WILL BE A SIGHT MORE CHEAPER THAN THE SWIIS ROUTE;

TELL him to try again,

I used to run U.K to Greece all the time a couple of 3 years ago, 4 ton down and 6 ton back all via Swiss, and we used to get light permits from the boss, as long as we were under i think it was 28ton (which we were) we only paid half the normal cost of transiting. I remember the boss used to apply for the permits to a place in Newcastle. Dont know if that still happens or not, be interesting to know as i will be doing the odd trip again very soon.

Many thanks Coffee, I will get the office to contact them. thanks again Pete.

The reduced weight permits are no longer available.

Tony
