make it a even playing field with euro and brit hauliers

Make demurrage compulsory and legally binding to the consignee (especially at DHL operated sites, NISA, B&Q, NHS, ASDA), how many hauliers are out there operating mobile (sorry static) warehouses, a typical 4 hour turnaround AFTER the booking in time is not acceptable! Maybe this is something the RHA could sort out (okay, maybe not, you can stop laughing now).

you’ll upset a lot of uk hauliers who do euro work with that plan :wink:

Fuel rebates should be allowed, the same as France, Belgium, Spain etc the level playing field go’s uphill in Uk, plus with the rebate we could all go and buy newer trucks !!!

Don’t understand how you think it would stop UK hauliers doing euro work surley the work would increase as foreign hauliers wouldn’t be able to enter the UK - I know it’s a bit of a crazy idea but thats just my view. :slight_smile:

If you stop foreign hauliers coming into the UK the first thing the euro countries would do would be to stop UK hauliers entering Europe :wink:

Although we don’t have the powers to do that anyway as it would need EU Agreement

equal fuel prices throughout europe, maybe +/-5% for competition purposes.
maximum 45’ trailers, but no overall length. this will promote future sales of new designs of tractor units.
maximum 4 metre height limit.
european wide pay structure for the haulage industry.
equal fines structure throughout europe.
do away with roadside fines, drivers may opt for court action in their own country.
abolish the dcpc.
abolish the 90 hour fornightly driving.
abolish weekly driving limits, and introduce maximum daily duty limits. 14 hours on, 10 hours off.
36 hour minimum weekly rest, or 24 followed by 48 the following week.
speed limits to be the same for all vehicles.
