16 convictions. Yeah, totally isolated.
Doesn’t say what the 16 convictions were for, they might not have been for violence so it might indeed be an isolated incident. They might have been or he might not have been caught for violence before and the sentence is way too lenient but nothing in the report says he had done it before.
Lot of assumption on this thread about race, the race of the victim isn’t mentioned as far as I can see?
Convictions are convictions. This guy is obviously a complete criminal. Once is a mistake, twice is starting to look iffy. But 16, that’s a ■■■■ take. Doesn’t matter that they might not be for violence, he’s committing crimes and wasting police and court time. The judge should have done a number on him.

The two scumbags should have been sent to jail. That should happen if you attack someone for no good reason, such as if they’re in your way or you don’t like their tone of voice. I’ve heard of this happening so often. I’ve even heard of cops telling a 16yo boy attacked by an adult man that "you can’t give verbal and get away with it ".

Depends on the verbal and whats being said. I have a low tolerance level for abuse aimed in my direction (I know,I bet that surprises some of you!) and if someone is big and brave enough to throw insults and threats then he is big enough to take what comes back

Yeh I could understand it if there had been random racist comments not connected with the thread topic. Rikki says stay on the topic, but it IS still on topic discussing the Judge’s possible motives for letting these guys off so lightly for their attack on a driver. Something does not ring true, and Positive discrimination does appear to be the consensus of opinion.
I hate all this PC crap, but what tf does it matter, the thread is going to be locked anyway, end of.

How can a judge give two hoots about references when the Crown already has 16 references of their own. Not to mention the fact they’ve ganged up on an innocent person and attacked him with weapons.
I don’t think race played a part in sentencing though. I’d say their businesses probably saved them if anything.
Insulting someone based on their skin colour is racist.
Voicing an opinion that if it had been white attacking black it would have been different is a valid opinion and not racist.
The words racist and racism are banded about far too much nowadays and for some people they use it so much they’ve actually forgotten the true meaning of it. Working on the doors I was called racist every other weekend. Being drunk,barred,aggresive,wearing sports tops,didnt matter. Refusing entry was always because I was racist at least once a night. And that worked both ways in plenty of occasions.
My brother in law got into the police on his second time of asking. The first time he lost out due to the force needing to meet their minority candidate quota. He scored higher on the testing than the candidate who got passed through yet lost out because he was not a minority. So you have a candidate getting in a head of someone who scored higher purely because of their skin colour.
Racist? You bet your life it is.(I appreciate its totally not related to this thread but when its threatened with being locked because some of us think reverse racism goes on then I feel it is relevent to the discussion as it is a fact this goes on)
Skin colour matters nothing to me. We all bleed red. But in trying to overcome genuine racism,which only a fool denies actually goes on,then the powers that be have created a pendulum that has swung so far the other way they have turned every event into a race issue,with whites now claiming the system is against them. Rikki is right,this should be about a guy getting attacked for doing his job. But its been turned into something else because public opinion is being ignored by the law makers in the interest of appearing fair.
And if this post is the one that gets the thread locked,sorry guys 
The victims boss gave a glowing reference so they didn’t go to the big house. I wonder if he’d much sooner have them close by for a bit of natural justice.
You can’t beat a bit of “community payback!” Luckily I live in an area where people know people who know people. Hence although it looks rough, it’s actually quite safe! Is that right? Not really but sending the right message is more of an effective deterrent than the law. It is rough but there is a community grit and people do know their neighbours. There’s been a few burglaries around recently, which is unusual. Certainly if they were caught in the act no doubt they’d get the ■■■■ kicked out of them.

That maybe, but this isn’t the website to discuss that, discuss a driver getting assaulted because of his job , take the rest to a website that caters for that discussion, this one doesn’t.

Rather than lock it why not put it on Bully’s and monitor it.
You seem to think it’s a vehicle for racists, I disagree. Even though it has gone off topic it ain’t the first thread on here to go off on a tangent, it’s a grown up relavent discussion and a bit more entertaining than ‘Can I drive 10hrs 5 times a week’ or what size inverter do I need to run my sunbed’ or the like
