Delivering concrete to building sites is proving interesting with all this rain of late…went to a site last week…one way system in operation (in theory)…acsess is down a hill about 50 meters long, bit off stone been chucked down for the tippers that have been leading away for a few weeks…so now knee deep in mud…
“Down there Drive, then turn right” OK…Half way down she picks her feet up n starts sliding…regains control at last minute and makes the corner (more luck than skill me thinks)…
Same site today…down there Drive…
NOPE no can do…to slippy…
Well if you don’t… ■■■ off…you car,nt tip…
OK…see ya…
Hold up Drive…Mutter mutter…go in from other end (Tarmac)…
OK…
With all the health n safety bollox in place why does the basic stuff get missed…■■

The situation is always the same, as long as drivers will try to get in the sites will let them do it. The formen know site accesses should have been risk assessed and reasonable access has to be provided but they’re pushed to the limit and will let things go downhill as long as the job keeps getting done although it damages lorries and does become a safety issue. Report the problem to the site Foreman then the Agent site to your area health and safety manager & let them sort it between them. That’s what I’d do.
I’m surprised you haven’t been issued with one of the traffic light report books so sites with problems can be assessed by the driver, reported to the health and safety manager so they can get site problems sorted.

Some councils have started implementing that the road structure is in place before building starts to prevent mud ■■■■ and stuff making it out onto the highway.
Had a few places that had a compound that all inbound building goods were taken then loaded onto a site trailer for delivery around the site much better for everyone.
it saved on every driver not having to go through site inductions except the regular site traffic ie tarmac concrete boys etc .
when we are on the concrete …the first truck in does a site assesment ,radios up office to bring up any problems. after that we have to mark delivery notes with (printed on back) any problems(tick a box.)
Seems this is provincial law(work in MB Canada),since we are CORE registered ,and all o us are card carrying registered ,tested 2 day course as Redi mix profesional drivers. valid for 2yrs then retested in classroom.
If we say the access is no good ,stay put till the contractor sorts it out /charged waiting time.
Have seen up to a dozen loaded mixers lined up /waiting for stone to be laid on /pump to arrive as some cheap company wants you to unload at full chute reach on the edge of a trench.
