At last

Not really the correct forum, but some of you will have heard me moaning and whinging about the 3 year wait to get my 1935 Riley restored and back on the road. And finally, it’s done!

Nice, must be a good feeling to sit in it and drive.

That’s a cracker

Very nice Pete

That’s a beauty Pete, I didn’t know you ran a chauffeur service for your residential clients!

Wow! Thats a beauty.

Wow :open_mouth: , it’s looking very nice Pete, I can remember you telling me about it about three years ish ago. It’s nice to see the end result, & you’ll have a lot of pleasure driving that around

I’m currently restoring a 1980 model year girlfriend. She’s looking good now but I need to replace the voicebox.

It has an annoying fault. It keeps bollocking me.

Well as long as the bodywork is in good nick, the motor runs sweet and it’s low mileage, it’s probably worth doing up!

How are the hooters?

I am wondering which is older … Peter or the car :exclamation: :exclamation:

The hooters have had some hammer Dan, but i’ve got a grip of them now.

That Pete, is a beautiful car. Have you done all or most of the resto work yourself? Got any “before” pictures?
Well done, jobs a good un!

Why dont you just trade her in for a younger model?
But I know what you’ll say. She almost part of the family

Thing is frozen chap, I traded the last one in for the current younger model.

If I carry on at this rate, I will end up choosing the next one whilst wearing a trenchcoat with a big pocket full of sweets.

LOL. The car wins - but not by as much as I’d like!

Did none of the work myself. I have neither the time or knowledge to tackle a job like that. Sadly, no “before” pictures. I bought it from the corner of a shed, covered in old seats, wheels and general rubbish. So impossible to get a picture at that point. The guy I purchased it from is a car restorer so it made sense to leave it with him (all his Christmas’s coming at once). I did ask for photos as it went along but I’m sure this hasn’t happened. Which is a shame. But I do have the work sheets (and associated invoices) which detail the work. It started off as “a bit of rot on the timber frame at the edge of the cracked windscreen.” Ended up with 90% new ash frame throughout the car and I’m sure you can imagine the rest.

Anyhow, the long saga has now ended and the fun has begun. Long let the smiles continue!
