if you live in the sw our wages aren’t as good as wages up country, just been thinking though is that basic after tax or before

Good for you mate, the money would be a good rate in my neck of the woods.

Yes wildfire that’s £360 before tax but seen as I’ve been out of work for the last 5 months its a ■■■■ sight better than £67.50 a week don’t you think.

Pleased for you but if they are based Ivybridge that’s a bit of a trek from Hayle? Or do you not have to commute? Just out of interest.

Mike

Is there anywhere in the southwest you can pay a mortgage on a bog standard 3 bedroomed semi with those wages?

£360 a week (around 18k) is pretty much the worst possible wage - too low to do anything with, but too high in that it prices one out of tax credits, rebates, and just about everything else the guy with a young family needs. Since these things are on a national scale, it is irrelevent where one earns the 18k.

Are we talking the Bridgewater head depot here?

I suppose it’s not a bad job for someone who intends living with their mum, never being able to afford to get married or have kids perhaps… :frowning: :smiling_imp:

He’s got a job, paying more than the dole and something which is worth more than any wage, self respect.
Good luck, hope it works out for you.

If you are on about me im not on about the poster im on about ady1 wanting to work all hours, but now we no more about the wage £360 per week if he works 60 hours that’s only £6 per hour no mention of overtime so that’s less than the minimum wage.

Your thinking of Langdons in Bridgwater. I think 24caratplonker has got a job with Langdon Transport LTD which is Plymouth. I imagine its tough to get a job that far south west so well done.
