Dont know the story behind this truck, but while waiting in the customs compound at Buzau in Romania it turned up has Astrans on the top and on the side, with plain yellow tilt, was on Moldavian plates.

Biggles could it have been from this firm as they do have a lot subbies working for them.
and this is not to my knowledge any thing to do with the
real and only ASTRANS
No it wasn’t one of there trucks, seen quite a lot of them about, and the subbies if they have the logo on it has to be the same.

This might be totally off-topic but… There are plenty of hauliers in eastern europe countries which have bought used trucks from western europe. After that they haven’t bothered to remove markings of old owner. Here it’s not unusual to see trucks in russian plates still carrying livery from Germany/Denmark/Belgium/Finland etc. Maybe this truck has same story behind it.
nothing to do with astran as in UK biggles (no S on their name anyway) seen them about in bulgy and elsewhere before

Yep you right, in all the years ive come into contact with em i always thought there was an ‘s’ on the end, I stand corrected, just goes to show how much attention i pay to names, still gave me some thing to do for a while, its bad enough i have to drive a renault without having to take a picture of someone else’s

i’m as bad at paying attention, thought the new scania was yours until i read your picture post again - who was running the roadtrain? trailer looks decidedly foreign, presume not a brit?
thanks for photos of the “friendship bridge” brings back memories - not always pleasant ones mind you!
The Roadtrain was on Bulgarian plates, only took a picture of it as i hadn’t seen one for a few years, brought back memories of the one i had, none of them good either.
