There is a warning elsewhere on this forum about using a “towing pin” for towing. That is a good example, normally it just nips the chassis rails and squashes the radiator or intercooler!
I definitely agree with you wheel nut, towing pins are not always useful for towing (see page 145).I was lucky there was no further damage, only the bumper ripped completely off. Here is a picture of the crow (on the right ) the other driver is Leo Boule, a Belgian,he was an owner driver subbie for SKI in the late 70’s.He left to drive in Canada around 1980.I don’t know which province.I was wondering if any of our Canadian bretheren know him or remembers him.

Looks like old mate on the loader took off before the bloke in the Swedish 140 could release the park brake?
That B Series ERF is a cracker, looks similar to the one that Nick Bull had?
Not Midnight Sensation Tony Overnight Sensation, that was is Pete Andrews popularly known as Peter big ■■■■■■■■ always walked with his head down and picked up every nut, bolt etc that he saw on the deck and put them in his toolbox saying you never know when you ll need them. He had an R reg 2800 or 3300 Daf not seen or heared of him since I went to his surprise 60th birthday in Doncaster many years ago. On those photos looks like one of ours on the pic with the Simons Scania, well down the line with an RJ trailer behind it.Crow.
Andrew, could be a Hicks, there is a picture of a mangled Hicks 2800 on that forum, although weren’t they were running Transcons back then
Crow, I do that with nuts and bolts, never throw anything away, my tool box weighs about 5cwt
Jamie, that does look like NB’s ERF, could be the same one or from the same batch at least. Was that possibly from S Jones’s time out east
Thanks mate,
I’ve only seen a couple of pics of Nick Bull’s ERF and I don’t think it is that one. His was much longer and had a tag axle. It did have the same bumper though,I’m sure that it was a cancelled order either for South Africa or the m/e?
Do you have any photos of it mate?
I’d like to build a model of it to go with the 142 that I posted a couple of pages back.
So does anybody know what Nick Bull is driving now??
just curious, and i like the loooks of his oldies
Reg Danne
