I didnt have dealings with Dow - but did with RJ, loading some of their subcontractors. Although all were British registered, I know most were British drivers but was a little suspicious whether all were. I didnt have anything to do with Roger or John and they appeared a little aloof on the phone - but Richard was always good to talk to.
Astran did have an office in Holland so they also got work in Europe from them.
I thought is was extreemly funny and pls spell my name correctly its Wood,as in Oak ,cause im hard as nails , and Rita as in Margarita couse im smooth as sandpapered and polished Oak

Welcome to the Middle East. !!
I used to meet up with several Swedes from Umika, Lindfors, Vebetrans, Combitrans and some others that pass me at the moment. We spent many days " not having today" in Turkey and other eastern European places.
Great guys.
I also spent several Mid-summer nights in Sweden, drinking Absolut Vodka and eating Sik (its a fish, not vomit).
I lost touch with all my Swedish buddies, maybe you can help me get back in touch with some ā ā
Hi Dan
The guys that I knew well were Goran Ekblad , aka Magnum. He used to live in Helsingborg, I went to visit him a few times, we got on really well.
Then there was the red haired Christer from Hjo. He used to drive a red Transcon for a guy who had a powder coating factory in Hjo.
I cant remember the guys name but they were both great lads.
Then there was Dennis Holm. He lived in Lysekil, on the Nth West coast near the Norwegian Border.
I also remember a guy called āMoppyā He drove for Umika.Iām not sure where he lived and a guy called Stefan who also drove for Umika.
And of course there was āGlidarnā, Gunar Lager, also a driver for Umika. He lived in Goteborg.
It would be great if you were able to find any of these fellahs. Some of them will be well retired by now i would think.
Thanks
Gavin
Hi again! hmm Could Moppy be Tomas"moppe"Andreasson?

The tunnel through the cliff is directly in front at the other side of this bridge over the river Euphrates.
