Roger,
have you any idea how much it costs to run a horse, funnily enough you can’t just turn them out to grass all year round, and you can’t fit a sleeper cab on one either although it would mean a return to a more tranquil way of life.

ah its ur motor, didnt know that, well the piccy was taken on the M5 between 16-17 on the 18/2/10
I sorted out a pic of a restop in Yugo that reminds me of a funny situation that I am sure a lot of old jockeys may recall and would of experienced for themselves. The place is quiet and peaceful and ideal for a 45, then out come the locals from everywhere trying to flog wood carvings and knitwear, Well it was freezing cold and I always considered that everything had a value on our job so I bought a designer balaclava with matching gloves for a pittance with a couple of wood carvings thrown in
and I later put them to use, I put the balaclava on to find that one eyehole was lined up ok but the other was on top of my head somewhere and as for the gloves they only had four fingers and no thumb hole so I had to bend my thumb up to overcome the
prob: and the stink was unbelievable, I may not of created the situation on this post but it is a situation that I shall never forget

Roger
HiAll.Roger are u sure it’s horse sh.t you put in the bag. Most drivers would’nt know which end of the horse it comes out of.
I DO however know MANY drivers who could fill LARGE plastic bags to the brim with BULLsh.t. Mike
i have a picture of ALP 60 S

Iam in the process of restoring an f89 (reg -ALP 61S).Its first owner was PIEinternational and then later on in life White trux of Dover, so it has obviously been on ME work.A guy called John Buckle used to drive it for White trux and i have been in contact with his son Julian. Does any of you ME veterans have any history or photos of this truck as i would be very interested in hearing from you, many thanks Dave.

hi allive just been reading an old Trucking International mag from 83/84, it has an article in it about a couple of motors from Bob Kilby transport in Swindon doing the middle east run, they were traveling with a couple of trucks from Torben lang from Denmark.
anyone got any info or pics of his trucks & the Torben langs too.
if anyone wants the article posted up let me know.
cheers
gazHi Tetragaz, I for one would love to see that article about Bob Kilby so can you post it up please. I am sure that Irish John Conneely would love to see it too as he used to work for Bob.

Roger
You appear extremely knowledgeable on this subject. Is your thesis based upon original research and did you also have the opportunity to study camel feces during your travels ?..…

Morning all.
I’ve been working in Sweden these last weeks and the cold has siezed-up my typing finger but it’s all better now.
Sorry nobody got my Grey Matter Test picture. He was the tyre man at Aydins workshop in Istanbul.
Now I need some help. I need to contact Ken Searle, if anybody remembers him. He was on Oryx and then doing internals for Astran with a Mercedes and was last heard of about ten years ago doing ‘security’ work in Iraq. Heres a picture that may jog a memory or two.
Thanks in advance.
