You know…where men are men and the beer has a frothy head on it. And they have to put all the exotic place names down the side of the trailer (I’ve been everywhere man syndrome). :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Good job I’m many miles away from Blighty… ha! ha!

There was a very good reason for that, the boss would underline our destination on the side of the trailer so if we forgot where we were going during the trip all we had to do was get out and look at the side of the trailer, find the underlined destination to remind ourselves. (Northern pracicality :sunglasses: )

Ross.

Awfully sad news, RIP

A real nice bloke. A larger than life gentle giant. Keep on trucking PAT.

RIP :frowning:

So saddened to hear about the loss of Pat, he was lovely guy and a true professional. He will be missed by all who knew him.

:frowning: :frowning: I must echo the sentiments of all the other guys who knew Pat. I ran with him a few times back in the mid 70’s…a real character and a super man.

I wish I believed in life after death…he would be one person that I would like to meet up with again!!

Something I’d like to know - this wasnt by any chance still his old, old N reg truck, was it? Even back in the 90’s customers were quite amazed that Pat still had a truck so old going out there… what a true professional through and through.

I’m sure Pat’s funeral date will be on here as soon as they know.

For those that need reminding, this is what Pat drove.

Dave.

Pat you will be sadly missed by so many, but your memory will live on in the minds of all who meet you.

Allison, for the past few years, Pat was driving an old F reg Seddon Atkinson eight wheel tipper, out of the Quarries around the Lancaster area, it was this wagon he was with when he died.

It was painted in the same colours as the Volvo, I did ask him if he had a job lot on the paint, he declined to answer.

When I have more information I will post.

Dave.

Thanks Dave - a welcome reminder. He brought his truck to sleep in at one of my barbecues - and another time he came on his old motorbike - he must have slept in the hay that night!
