Hi all.
Got a collection out of Formica Ltd, Shed 5, Teesport, Grangetown next week - any help with where it is please as cant seem to see it.
Keep driving until you see the sea then the lorry turns in to a submarine like the Lotus Elite in the Bond film.
Any more stupid questions ?
Prob in the docks just follow sign up A19
straps,straps and more straps
commonrail:
straps,straps and more straps
Or a big tub of no nails
I used to move this stuff down to Bilbao and boy oh boy does it need strapping, strap that mother down 4 per stack
Ok … I put this into Google … comes up with PD Ports ( they own Teesport ) as doing storage for Formica.
If you then go to Google Maps … put in Teesport - it shows a location for PD Ports on Kinkerdale Road.
Looks as if you follow thro’ the docks as if going to Tesco ( on Dabholme Road ) … but at the R/about by Kemira Chemicals … turn LEFT.
Put Teesport into Google Maps … zoom in on the dock … you will see this … hope this helps. Being a techno-phobe … no idea how to do a link
If youve ever played those air table games of hockey in an arcade then thats pretty much 2 sheets of formica, been a while for me but just maybe the sender has found some ingenious way to stop the stuff moving (clingfilm), but I doubt it.
I seem to remember I took Formica from Newton Aycliffe to somewhere just thro’ border @ Irun … but this was just huge sheets of the actual laminate ( not actually on the chipboard ) … awful stuff even like that. Think I had some that was also rolled into huge reels … but were in/on wooden cradles.
Might have been a Formica factory in Spain
Thanks Rustler much appreciated. As for the goods been collected Im not sure what they are but soumds interesting!!

No problems … this is just what T/net should be As has been said … make sure you have LOTS of straps / spansets … also might be useful to have corner protectors … Formica might be able to help you with these … or look around in the corner of the sheds
Depending on how many pallets high they put them its worthwhile putting a strap through the first row or second row as well as over the top.
As already said make sure well strapped down as slippery as a politician!
Used to load chipboard out of eggar Hexham and always had a T Bar to get that extra click on ratchet, not sure where in tee sport Formica is but shouldn’t be to hard to find. Ps, take it steady on roundabouts! Enjoy:-)

wot the monkey says, 2 pulling one way and 2 pulling the other way and get them as tight as you can
Shed 5 Teesport, follow signs onto Teesport, you will come to unmanned security box, dont stop go srraight through and immediately you will come to a roundabout, turn left and go down the bank to the next roundabout, go straight over this one and carry on for approx 1/2 mile until you come to next manned security box, pull slightly over to the left on approach and stop before the gate, get out of the truck and you will see an office on the left, go in here with your collection paperwork and he will make you watch a short video and give you a pass, go back to truck and pull up to barrier, security man will ask to see your pass, tell him you want shed 5 and he will direct you, its basically through the gate turn right, right at the next T junction and follow it for about 1/4 mile and sheds on your left, security man will explain it better though
What is this stuff?
its like the slippy stuff on top of your kitchen worktop but in sheets, it comes in to teesport in containers and shed 5 unloads it and then sends it out in curtainsiders

That tacky stuff that chips off around the edges? I’ve moved worktops before, they only need a strap, two if its stack of long ones.

Are you sure?..There are several blokes posted above who reckon different.

If we are talking about the top coating of a worktop then no. I’ve only ever carried a whole worktop. Moved a few stacks for Howdens in the two days I was doing there.
