Assessment Drives for Jobs with Tacho?

Hi Guys

Sorry for the idiotic question but I just began wondering and I take it to be that you need to use your digi card when you do an assessment drive for a job. So can anybody point me in a guide having not used a digi card before, of what I do the first time I put my card in a machine as it hasn’t been used yet.

Cheers

Stick it in and read the display.

It will usually ask for Start Country… UK as default

Then it will ask for any manual entries. Just scroll through from the time you arrived to the time you put the card in and set it to other work.

A simulator is linked below.

Hope this helps

Ok so that’s given me a bit of a better idea. On the simulator when you brake to a hault the Driver mode changed to work rather than driving, is this correct? Ie if i’m stopped at lights the tacho mode changes to work?

Did you pay a fiver for that? :open_mouth:

Yes when you come to a halt the tacho mode will automatically change to the defaulted setting. Driving time is only accumulated when the wheels are in motion

When I clicked on the link, it asked me for a fiver

Here’s a link to the Digital Tachograph Simulator that’s easier to access and won’t cost anything to use

Yes, it will change. The definition of driving is different for the tacho rules to that for the Road Traffic Act.
