Assessment drive tomorrow bit of a dilemma

I’ve just been on the phone with a training school and have an assessment tomorrow.
The question is there are 2 companies I’m looking to train with and I feel awkward going out for an assessment drive if I end up going with the other company. How would you deal with it? Would you say that you will get back to them and then phone them either way?

I don’t like feeling that I’m taking people for a ride and getting a freebie that’s all.
Thomas

Leave it that you will contact them and say no more

If they do ask why you are not committing to them now perhaps say that you are currently organising the finances for it …

Thankyou Rog ill say that thanks again Thomas

I did 2 assessment drives when I did my class 2 earlier this year, and I told them the truth, mostly, “I was looking at a couple of trainers and doing assessment drives with both,” although I did tell both of them that they were the first company so couldn’t commit to anything until after my next assessment drive next week, they were both fine about it, I would think most good training companies,I assume like the ones regularly on here, recommended at least 2 anyway so would expect it, I’d think if they get funny about I then they might not be worth the bother, I mean what are they worrying about, you might see how it’s done properly at the other company??

Just my thoughts

Thanks thats very well put. Looking forward to it hope it goes well and I’m not useless. Thanks again Thomas

Any training company worth their salt will have no problem with you saying you want to mull it over and get back to them. If your planning to go all the way to C+E then your looking at a £2.5K investment. Thats a lot of money and you need to be sure your spending it with a company you have faith in,and feel comfortable with
Any company that either tries to push you into a decision there and then,or takes the huff at you wanting to think about it,isnt one you want to be with anyway

You don’t have to justify your actions. You’re not taking the proverbial. Merely shopping around until you find the product/service you want to buy. I really encourage folks to go elsewhere and have an assessment so they get the idea that not all training is the same. Sadly, folks go for the first one they see sometimes. And, if it doesn’t work out, then they discover that better facilities, training and vehicles are out there.

So have at least 2 assessments. Just tell them, honestly, that you’re shopping around.

Where are you based Thomas?

Thanks everyone.

I have another assessment now so 2 tomorrow. One at 4 pm and the other at 5pm.

They are based in the same place so that’s fine and they were quite happy when I told them I was doing one then the other.

Thanks again Thomas
