Only been once and was bang on my booking time. How much before the time do they normally let you in? Got a 4pm booking but am going to be hanging about at the services next door from about 2pm. What’s the earliest that’s going to be worth a try? It’s a full load as well so it’s not like they will take pity and let me sneak in it was only 2 lifts.
Never done Warrington but I’d give it a go the worst they can do is fire you back out till 30 min before.
The fact you only have 2 lifts makes no difference, one of ours had 1 lift yesterday and spent 2 hrs waiting
No I’ve got a full load. I’m saying it’s not like I’ve got 2 lifts as some places don’t mind squeezing you in you have.
Are Asda’s in general a 30 minutes before rule though? I’ve not been to many and I’ve never been more than 30 mins early so I don’t know
Just try your hand. If they want it they’ll take it, if not you’re back where you started.
The way they have performed recently God help ya
Dallam Lane or the new one on Omega?
Been recently, I was about an hour early and straight in. You just end up waiting in the unloading area for however long it takes, but the security will let you in.

Dallam Lane closed beginning of the year. Only the one at Omega now.
Could ring goods in, use the old if it helps you out phrase.
You never know crimbo spirit and all that.
Last one I went to I was 45 mins early they forked me off and said come back in 15. Said I’ll come back 5 minutes before my time as they only get one chance of me being early.
And the result was ■■?
He’s still there

Good. One $hithole less…
I tried it at 3pm and they let me in, then was sat waiting after 5 for them to start tipping me. Trucks were turning up after my booking time and getting tipped before me. Left at 6

I had that at Sainsburys Basingstoke. I only had 14 pallets on too.
They always have issues with floor space there.
Been a few times and always waited over 2 hours. Lutterworth are a quick tip but have to wait over an hour to be checked.
There is no floor space that’s probably the issue…everything goes up in the lifts & cranes and its all in the air (racking)…

Always find this one a bit amusing. Would you turn up for a doctor’s/dentist appointment two hours before and expect to get seen?
The way modern logistics is there are times for a reason and someone has clearly booked it in.
Of course many drivers are salaried so the quicker they got off loaded the quicker they are on to their next load or get home and finished but that doesn’t alter the timed delivery concept.
What would be better is instead of all this ‘■■■■■■■■’ about twitter, snap chat and face ache the existence of a special universal freight locator tablet. This would be push button and allow drivers and operators and consignees to be notified/advised of truck whereabouts to manage time better. It would be great to know in advance that I would be arriving at place X and be told go to bay 5, drop the trailer, park unit up and report to traffic office rather than frig around in a congested yard trying to ‘stop’ such as not to ■■■■ off a shunter/fellow driver whilst trying to ascertain where they want the trailer putting. We’ve already got tracking, mobile phone technology. Can’t be that hard can it?
Even a bloody great screen near an entrance with reg no and details would be an improvement. We need to make trucking more like rail or port/airport control with far better communication. At times we are still in the horse and cart era now we have all this IT.
