Going down M5 last night about midnight, very slow truck in lane 1, tanker moves out first then Asda driver makes a late decision to move out almost cutting up the tanker. Which granted was a poor move. How does the professional tanker driver react this? He takes a deep breath, backs off to increase the gap, rises above it, and leaves it there.
Wrong.
Lights flashing, horn held down, he’s swerving from left to right and flashing his lights in Asda’s mirrors. When Asda gets past and moves back, he’s then on his limiter immediately, swerves back in front of Asda at such an angle that would send any liquid if he was carrying anything sloshing up the sides of the tank.
Some guys move over too soon as they’re inexperienced, they don’t do it deliberately to upset the driver behind. Experienced guys should know better though, you can usually tell the difference.
We’re led to believe store deliveries are the
Best job , 8/9 hrs a day , so why the Asda
Driver couldn’t of stayed where he was for
A minute or two instead
Of winding up the tanker lad I don’t know
I’ve had an artic enter my lane to try and bully me off the road (no hard shoulder as it was an A road) but I didn’t move lol so he gave up. His trailer side was about half an inch from my mirror. I think he was ■■■■■■ off because a few minutes earler I had pulled out to overtake and caused him to slow down by 1-2 km/h until I competed my overtake. Some people…

Because it’s called a mistake dozy. Have you ever made one? Sure it wasn’t to intentionally wind the tanker driver up and if he can get that wound up that easily he shouldn’t be driving.

I hope that footage was sent to Royal Mail and the driver was sacked and never allowed behind the wheel of one of their vehicles again because what he did there could have caused a major fatal accident if he’d have pushed the rigid over into cars
