where i work, the work is easy,i cant remember the last time i did any handballing,i would say its 50/50 side tip, back door tip.you dont get the traffic office on the phone all the time nagging you even though the traffic manager is an idiot (and from reading comments on here he is not the only one) the oldest truck on the fleet is 5 yrs old and that is used by a day man,all of us trampers cabs have coffee makers and fridge freezers fitted so all in all not a bad job.
money…last week i did 61hrs with 5 nights out and took home after tax £550,when you think about it if you take off the night out money the wage is not all that good but im ok with it,im not under any pressure or bullied to brake the law and tbh im fairly happy with the job,i must be ive been here nearly 20yrs!!!
61 hours on just my ‘flat rate’ would equate to £793 gross; but I couldn’t do more than 40 hours at the ‘flat rate’, so no I’m not overly impressed by your artic pay rates, add to that I’m not subjected to ANY delivery or collection dilemmas, whether they be side or rear tip, as for ‘handball’ what-the-hell is that?, in fact I just tug trailers from door-to-door in the same yard, your job is CRAP and your pay is CRAP, just saying, no offence intended.
Furthermore I sleep in my own bed EVERY ■■■■ NIGHT, located in a house with five bedrooms; that costs me £300 per month in council tax, you just carry on and ‘live the dream’ fella with your coffee maker and fridge freezer in your ‘sardine tin’ accomodation, jesus wept you people have me rolling on the floor laughing my arse off with your justifications for living as you do.
What has paying £3600 per year in council tax to do with the question? What people earn is more often relative to where they live my council tax is just shy of £600 a year so I would guess that despite your huge salary I have more spare cash to fritter away at the end of each month on wine, women and beer
