Overturned lorry kills 25 sheep in Powys road crash
The incident happened on the B4355 between Knighton and Presteigne in Powys
A lorry driver has been cut out of his vehicle after it overturned in a crash, killing 25 of the sheep in its cargo.
The HGV was transporting livestock when it left the road between Knighton and Prestigne, Powys, close to the border with Herefordshire on Thursday.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service removed the steering wheel to free the driver and let 50 trapped sheep into a nearby field.
The lorry is due to be moved by crane on Friday, fire crews said.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said a crew from Presteigne was joined at the scene by colleagues from Kington and Leintwardine in Herefordshire, shortly before 1400 GMT.
A spokeswoman for the fire service said the man injured in the incident was cut free from his vehicle and taken to hospital by ambulance.
