Agree, if you get in the habit then you dont feel comfortable pulling away if you havent, also check trl/box number, even if I’ve been hooked up to it all night, just cant help myself. Pull the dipstick 2-3 times a week even when I had an FH that had a guage built into the dash, old habits die hard  Though I draw the line at the horn if its 230am start as it was this morning

Some companies demand that 20 minutes of OTHER WORK is
shown on the tacho, in order to prove to VOSA that a thorough
daily check has been done.

The horn and brake lights should also be checked every day.
Another person, a good reflection or a piece of wood to
wedge the pedal can be used to check all the brake lights.

If you don’t find the fault, VOSA will. Don’t tangle with VOSA.

Yes, I work nightshift and the vehicle has been working all day with someone else. A bulb can go anytime, he/she could have had a mishap? I do all my drivers checks, only takes 20 minutes

Check my Horn every day, especially when a German Car cuts me up ! LOL !

No wonder we get paid peanuts as an industry .

Now I can see the need for dcpc …If done properly.

You can always check you horn in the services, between 0200 and 0400  seriously i think the hours of using the horn and reverse bleepers are from 2300 to 0700, someone may correct me.

On a Scania locking fob, there is a button which runs through seguences off all the lights well about 4 or 5 times, bloody great idea plenty of time to walk round the truck/trailer and see whats working and if any arent. I think MAN do a similar thing.

I worked with a driver who used to take the wee out off me for my routines, but I had the last laugh when he got stopped one morning because the trailer doors were open :open_mouth: , pinned back, but he’d forgot hed opened it the night before and charged off down the road, Prat :unamused: , the boss told me, so I had a field day winding him up
