Are you an ex-courier?

I don’t mean in the Monty Python sense  but I’m looking for people who used to be courier owner drivers to take part in a survey.

We often hear of courier owner drivers who drop out after just a few months in the business. Cashflow problems, not enough capital, unrealistic expectations, and not enough work are probably high on the list of reasons. But what are the hard facts, and what lies behind the symptoms?

I’m researching this and I’d like to hear from any ex-couriers with their stories and experiences. Have you been in this situation, or do you know somebody who has? If so, would you be willing to share your experience for the benefit of other couriers? I will pull the information together and write an article or report on the topic, and make it freely available to anybody who wants it.

You can use the online form at http://www.codforum.org.uk/research/wfquestions.html to give me the information. It’s completely anonymous and confidential, and you don’t have to give any personal details. If you’d like to know more about this research please email or pm me.

Thanks in anticipation.

Mike George

PS - I cleared this with the moderator before posting

Im interested to hear about couriers Mike, as it’s something I might have to look at myself in the future!

Brother Maynard! Bring forth the book of arguments!

I filled it in. I was a courier for 2 years, UK and international. Before I moved on to big trucks. Loved the job.
