I bet one or two will be on the funfairs soon enough.

I know a few Morrison fodens and argo’s DAF’s on the fair run

That’s ‘cos Co-ops’ ones are only fit for scrap
Working for a firm that until recently was 95% Foden, it always made me smile when the fairs had newer wagons than us.
Does make you wonder what they’ll buy in a few years; Hinos, Axors and MANs I reckon.

My cousin got his own fair he got a R620 v8 pulling his living trailer and a R500 V8 pulling one of his rides … Seem like the fair are slowly bring in Volvo’s and Scania’s now

Here’s where they are, and where they’re going.

I suppose that’s not a bad price for 30.

A lot go to Britcoms place too. Then out via Kenya britcom.co.uk/hvps-kenya

See loads of Axors pulling TNT and UPS trailers, and overnight pallet trunks aswell!

Day cabbed 4x2 Axors would make good skip wagons, tippers with suitable modifications.

Yes, I suppose they would. If your truck is knackered but your skip lift is fine, why not?

I wonder why we don’t see many “recycled” trucks about. I remember it was always the done thing 40+ years back. Artics converted to rigids, rigids into artics, etc

Our stone quarry wanted a dumptruck but there wasn’t enough work to justify a new one and a secondhand one was priced at £25k. The solution was to buy a 6w off the haulage fleet for £4k and it does the same job, moving a bit of stock about.
A one man band gravel merchant has recycled his alloy tipper body twice; It started off on an E reg leyland Roadrunner, went on an N reg Leyland Daf 45 (ex Raf airfireld support truck) and was recently stuck onto a Y reg Daf. Apart from cost, it’s lighter than new bodies on the market.

I was told today that we will be getting Axors when our DAFs wear out (tomorrow then I assume? ) but now you have got me worried, I hope new means new in our case!
