Anyone who frequents Brackmills Ind Estate Northampton

I drove through there tonight whilst taking a short cut home, and they have made all of the roads double yellow lined so you ‘cant’ stop on them, and opposite Office Depot, Panasonic, NYK and Stanley they’ve put in parking bays but they have 3hours waiting limits on them which I’ve since found out get checked. Apparently it was to stop all the Turkish guys parking up while waiting to tip/backload as there was loads of congestion etc. So the other areas where people park up overnight get full fairly quickly so I’ve been told.

parked outside “buildcentre” yard a few times last year, not had any probs,is this a recent thing jon?

Well when I was lovingly disposed of from Pana it wasn’t there then, which would have been feb this year, the yellow lines look freshly painted. You on about the place on the left hand side just before a roundabout where you go up quite a slope? If its where i’m thinking of tats the new travis perkins building, and they’ve taken over wickes aswell which I found out about today

I’d guess the reason this has been done is to discourage trucks from parking on the estate as over the last 12 months this area has become truck crime central. I really wouldn’t recommend parking there with any type of load that could be removed by hand or any amount of diesel in your tanks.

According to a chap in coke, the final straw was someone finding an Eastern European driver taking a no2 on the grass outside and being spotted by someone. They’d found out he’d only been waiting 3 weeks for a load home!!(long time to hold it i reckon  )

I parked up down by the rear exit to the estate(by the A428) on Wednesday night and its not been double yellowed or camered yet.
Never got touched either and i was not the only one parked up there.
I reckon Northamptonshire council must be the biggest hypocrite’s walking as they say they want to do all they can to help Truck drivers find somewhere to park and then they go and do that on Brackmills!

Heard some container drivers saying there were frequent armed truck hijackings and armed robberies, didnt Smarts from Wales and Southampton(Eling Wharf),have Panasonic loads taken. To be left stranded on the road in your Y fronts,is a truckers worst nightmare, when the bandits evict you against your will,in the dead of the night.Had a quarter of my Spanish shoes nicked on a windy night, woke up when the wind stopped for a few seconds, but the rocking motion in the trailer didnt stop.Spainish CID told me that area South of Burgos on the A1,was notorious for a gang that could break in to and take anything, even from locked containers.Took me ages to get over it,as the slightest noise in the night, would disturb me.
