Anyone that has taken PDP

After a year or so of having my adr i finally got a tanker position I’m due to start in a few weeks.

So my question is could someone run me through what it entails, i know there is and theory and practical and what the pdp is needed for. I think i may of sat some of the theory in my adr.

Cheers

PDP is straightforward , Sit in a classroom with the instructor and watch some safety films. After a lot of coffe breaks you sit a written test 10 or 15 questions, Then you drive to the terminal and you load vehicle, examiner will watch you, then drive to an offloading point where examiner will watch you offload. Then a drive back to classroom, examiner will mark you on your driving. It’s an all day course with a lot of breaks. I had to use the examiners company tanker as the one I drive was sitting loaded, This was in Grangemouth but I think it’s the same all over.

who you on for andy its pretty straight 4ward theory and then a supervised load and tip depends what terminal you go to some insist on 2 loads

PDP is an industry minimum standard. You will have to take a refresher every year to maintain your PDP, this is normally done by the company you work for.

great thanks, ill be loading at vopak, nustar and stolthaven i think

who you on for ?
