Hello people as I continue on my trucking journey I’m looking to get class 2 asap I’ve just had my medical done it’s all good. I’m currently in the little truck 7.5t.
I’m just wondering as unused to be self employed if it was still worth going Ltd as a trucker or has IR35 scuppered that.
IR35 killed it off. Basically unless you work for small companies with less than 6 employees and a turnover of no more than £250k you can’t do it. Also HMRC have said that unless you have a financial interest in the vehicle you cannot be self employed as a driver.
Nobody I knew on agency who was Ltd is doing it anymore. I don’t know of any agencies still doing Ltd, at least in my county, and I’ve been doing agency work for 30 years.
You can go to an agency as Ltd Co.
but you can’t go directly to an operator as one. Nothing to do with IR35 - that’s fronting by the operator and put the driver at high risk of no insurance if nothing else
