saw 3 or 4 units pulling plane white mini trls, not seen em before, they look smaller than a urban artic, wonder what hes using them for
They’re the mobile stage, sound and wardrobe units for his new pop band?
… Digressing slightly, i saw one of the matt black F1 Pirelli tyre Scania’s pulling a Tesco trailer on the M62 going eastbound past Normanton, very smart looking unit indeed, i guess they have to earn their keep now the F1 season’s finished.
There covering for tesco Doncaster I believe.
Depends on the back doors (oo-err).
If they had roller shutters, then they’re Tesco trailers, probably from Doncaster.
if they had doors on them then they’re going to Widnes to be stickered then used at Widnes DC.
They’ll be either 8 or 10 metres long…

For the last few days I have seen marshals (the burgundy units that normally do bricks and paving slabs)
Pulling tesco double deckers up the a1. Seen a few at a time too?

Ive seen Marshals doing traction for Stobbies/Tesco too, thought I was imagining things.
Lots of companies run traction for Tesco. It’s how I got my experience with Tesco deliveries; the tractor was a 6x2 MAN XXL and most of the time the trailers were lower than the roof of the cab

The gaffer from Marshals was on the radio this week and said his main customer had nine brickworks, and none of them were producing bricks due to the slump in the building trade.
I’ve been seeing a lot more smaller artics recently, usually with single axle trailers but quite long, low and being towed by a regular 4x2 LGV unit or something the size of a 7.5t or even van size.
I guess it all depends on what they need to tow though, what the customer wants/needs…
iv been subbying for pentalver recently and even they are pulling for tesco out of fradley park, and there is nearly every big haulage firm in there pulling tesco trailers, its the same every year in there, and to be fair get some good runs out of it.

If you look through these forums, you will see that Marshalls pull for Stobarts leading up to and after Christmas every year. Building is quiet, the boss men know each other and look after each other.
Wait while April. Stobarts will be doing roof tiles and bricks

Co-Op out of St Helens run me DAF LF 7.5 tonners as tractor units. Looks weird cos the thing is about 4 feet thinner than the trailer…
We are back on it as from Monday 25th/Marshalls that is.
It’s not bad nice change from freezing ya balls off operating the crane

Might be a legacy of the many Tesco Express/petrol station/corner shop type stores they’ve been opening recently, all with restricted access.
