I’m really keen to run a feature in Truck & Driver on a company who specialise in carrying crushed or cubed scrap cars. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a firm? Ideally I’d like a company that runs smart wagons, but it’s not a necessity. Can anyone think of a firm that might be cooperative? Thanks for any help you can give me on this one.

Try Hamptons in Newcastle-u-L, they’ve got a few smart-looking Globetrotter FHs that they seem to carry a lot of crushed cars to the docks in.
try E.M.R , european metal recyclers . they carry all kinds of scrap .nearly all scania and its a huge firm . if they wont help you out they will know someone who will . they have yards allover the country , ggogle them …

theres an irish firm see them most nights on the 61 with cubed scrap on flats i think there called hmt shipping blue and white fhs 
e.m.r are the best they have the crusher and the flat beds to move them they come in my grandads scrap yard alot . I think ron hulls move them aswell at rotherham.

We run out of a big scrap companys yard “Ripleys” Hastings , all the cubed cars seem to be going in bulgarian and polish trucks and of course there own fleet of bulkers
They run a tidy fleet of Merc actros and axors all with big bulkers across 3 depots and have there own terminal - they might be worth a call

I would reccommend gardener and grandson in Bristol, all their motors are scanias painted up with film themes in blue and red, all kept spotlessly clean.

I’ll second that. Failing that, AMT Transport, Norwich. Andy is a very approachable down to earth chap. Runs 8 scanias sub contract to EMR.
