Re The name given to the Royal Mail wheeled containers ie Yorks. They are named after the office where they were first used. that being York.

Royal mail is always easy work, if you struggle there you should probably give up driving lol.
the 7.5 ton work is more fun than the trunking on artics because you actually do some work. plus up here you get some nice “local” run.
eg perth to edinburgh to fort william then back to perth
nice one for the updates predator fingers crossed I should be on board with RM tomorrow myself for a week
i’ll update myself tomorrow

Glad you enjoyed your first shift. I did mine today in Manchester. No site induction or anything. Couple of local runs just following another driver all day (until he left me stranded at the traffic lights and zoomed off. Had to google where the sorting office was
Had brilliant day though and hope to go back there soon.

thanks for the good advice onlyalan really gave me a bit of an insightthanks to the other chap that posted the pic of the RM yorky! why are they called yorkys? is it something to do with the brand of the cages?
top guys/gals on this forum, imagine a company with all the like minded folk on here working in one depot from training newbies to fully fledged big time artic drivers with a serious dream fleet of trucks
don’t no why but they are called yorks! and who said truckings for girls!
