Anyone married to a nurse

Not a medical question but now all medical notes are on computer can a ex partner who’s a nurse at a doctors where you are not registered get your details such as your address if they have your NHS number.

I’m married to a mental health nursey type and she can log in to anybodies case notes etc etc so the answer will probably be yes…thinking about it, when I moved from Diddycot back to Reading, my new Quack just put my name in and up come my ‘case history’ of when I went to hospital when I broke a handful of bones on my right foot. She probably shouldn’t be checking up on you but you never know… Hope you don’t have some kind of um…rash…social media would explode and your name will be chanted around the pubs & clubs…‘he’s here, he’s here, the man with Gonorrhoea’!!

Only joking bud

Thanks for your answer that’s just what I thought

yes I agree with actrosman, my missus is a rgn and she said she shouldn’t but she could.

Yes, my ex is an NHS nurse and she could look up details of anybody on the system. Technically she wasn’t supposed to unless there was a genuine reason to do so, but as she didn’t need to log on to view records, it was unlikely that she would get caught out doing it.

EDIT- I married a nurse because I thought she would be a kind and sympathetic woman who would look after me when I was poorly. Big mistake! :stuck_out_tongue:

Answer is NO, GP practices aren’t linked together, most medical notes that are on the PAS system, are for current hospital visits, theses notes can be securely emailed via NHS.net to a GP but they will just give reason for admission, what new meds were stopped or commenced if it’s been a hospital visit, a faxed copy of your summary medical notes from a GP to your local hospital when admitted by your GP, would give a brief history of your medical complaints over the years and a current medication regime, I can look at anyone’s previous admissions as I work in a hospital, but to look at the medical notes I would need to request them from file by asking normally done by the ward clerk,if you are not in hospital or not coming in, access would be denied, you can search the spine for your address but it won’t show any medical conditions/complaints. But she can go to the local council and do a search of the electoral role to find your address, as a nurse searching for your ex or anyone’s notes is against the rules and regulations of the trust and the NMC, and you can be struck off for doing so

If they do it’ll be logged so there’s always a trail if they have looked and had no reason to

I was hoping the question was going to be " do nurses still wear sussies"

Yup, it is lovely here. The only thing wrong with it is the amount of old codgers (like meself) that are double dangerous on the road. Thanks for the well wishes, can’t wait to get them stockings on…
