Their site is empty and up for rent
I used to work for them, good job but crap pay. A lot of drivers been there donkeys years really good lads and only thing that let them down was the money. Crap at best but not paying drivers on time and not paying agencys for staff, fitters for repairs etc the guy who owned it when I was their was an accountant believe it or not Wont name names, but saw one of their units only a few days before christmas and on the way home xmas eve I drove past to see a to let sign and an empty yard.
Been there for decades a lot of my dads mates worked here 20 years ago and the pay was crap then but as anyone who ever worked there has said, steady job be sad to hear it completely gone even if we could all see it coming months ago.

They were under that when DHL took over Boots and Clearway had spent shedloads on trailors and a premises they didnt use and the VA was a result of this. But its old news, what is interesting is the fact he registered that new firm end of march he must of thought it was worth getting ready to set up again.
He doesnt have the people to lean on now though, he’s ruined clearways name in Nottingham as far as credit is concern I dont know any agencys willing to send staff in there now it was that bad. What a shame, completely ran into the ground by a stubborn arrogant ■■■■who thought he could treat his drivers and customers like crap and just sit on piles of money.

Bloody hell, the website is non existent now to.
I spoke to a guy last week who said he saw a flat bed with a clearway trailer on and we thought then that darnell was up to his usual tricks and not paying his fitters Obviously more to it, must be a driver for them on here who can tell us what has happened.
It’s funny htough, these firms that look from the outside solid as rock with decent work and it only takes the loss of one customer to bring the whole deck of cards crashing down.

This has always been a problem for smaller firms, and not only in haulage. My sister, who was an accountant, worked as a reciever for many years. She said that this was the most common cause of firms getting into trouble.
She also said that there was often a board of directors who couldn’t believe that their little gravy chain wouldn’t go on for ever. When she and a partner from her firm arrived on the day of reckoning there would be four or five men, sitting round a table. The first job she did was to go round and collect all the company credit cards and company car keys. That bought the reality home.
