Category C1 is for 7.5t, what’s often referred to as class 2 is category C.

My mistake, it’s the class c license I need.I already have the 7.5 tonne on my licence.

I need to gain my cpc and my cat c licence.

I did my training at Surrey and Hampshire HGV Training based in Hook. Not too far from Reading and I can fully recommend them. Very good training school.

Find your nearest DVSA test centre and go to the reception, ask to speak to a driving examiner, then ask him or her, we have had customers who have done exactly that before contacting us. If anyone will know who is best, its the driving examiners testing them.

I’m sure if a DVSA Examiner(in his official capacity) was recommending 1 training company over another they may have to answer to their superiors. I can guarantee, having spoken to an Examiner today, that they should not recommend as it may show favouritism.
Word of mouth from other trainees  , and of course forums like this are an ideal way of gaining information  .

Find the T bar that most stop at and ask the trainees

This is the only DSA LGV Accredited Training Centre in the area:

Wallace School of Transport (Reading)
Basingstoke Road
Spencer Wood
Wokingham
Berkshire
RG7 1PJ
Tel: 0208 4533440
Fax: 0208 4533441

Not many trainers manage to gain this accreditation and it is a form of quality assurance. Certainly suggest you give them a look.
